Born in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod, Russia’s third largest city), Vodianova had a difficult childhood. Her mother’s abusive boyfriends and a tight financial situation dogged her throughout childhood. Having helped her mother with her fruit stall business from the age of 11, Vodianova moved into her own apartment with a friend at 15 and started her own fruit-stall business. I'm happy for Natalia. The more I look at the pictures of her, the more I see a real, normal person like we all are, not just a supermodel. Being a model is just another job! I'm happy she suceeded so well in the modeling industry, she deserves it, she has the right height of course but most of all she has this different, interesting look - she looks still pretty even without make-up!
