Yasmin Deliz left home at sixteen for Cali to pursue her music career. By that time, she was already a world traveler, having been born in Caracas, Venezuela and growing up in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Yasmin spoke only Spanish until fourth grade. Early on, she listened to Gloria Estefan, Selena, and José José. When she went into entertainment, her parents were both supportive, although each gave her a warning.
