The Michalka Sisters Want You To Rock The Vote!

The event was sponsored by Esquire magazine & held @ the Esquire House in Hollywood Hills, CA.

Not much to say about the sisters that we haven’t said already, so instead we’ll focus on current financial meltdown & where everyone stands…

QUESTION: So, are McCain & Palin to the point where they need to release a celebrity politican sex tape in order recover their floundering campaign or is this merely something that’ll blow over in a few days?

You were right, 3 years later she's still skinny :)

These two bitches couldn't be more annoying if they tried.

First of all, John McCain does vote with the right over 90 percent of the time as does Obama vote with the left 96% of the time. That's just politics. You vote with your party, regardless of who's in charge.

It's kind of silly to manipulate that on both sides knowing that.

They're both kinda blah. The one on the right kind of looks like Hef's gf.

Bush is a terrible president, but he's not the worst ever. McCain hasn't voted 90% of the time with Bush. You should check their records before you buy into Obama's political spin.

Why are you so angry?

Since the average life expectancy of the US is 77.8 years and the life expectancy of Canadians is 80.4, it means Canada is better than the US. That's the best you can do?

Americans work longer and harder than Canadians, because we don't sponge off of our government like you do.

They're boring but pretty talented. Aly's alright, but AJ looks like a mini-Brooke Hogan and that's not cool.

I kind of agree with you. The Democrats and Republicans have not changed whatsoever. It's always kind of a lesser of two evils scenario. In this case, the lesser evil is Obama. It's kind of funny how John McCain, the most popular Republican with Democrats ever has become so hated by the same people who elevated him for years.

The founding fathers were against political parties for a reason. . . . If only they could've been against slavery. . hmm:(

The Devil

To be fair, McCain's a Republican. Most Republicans vote together as do Democrats. So, McCain probably voted with Ronald Reagan and Bush I 90% or most of the time too, and against Bill Clinton most of the time. And possibly Obama. . . If we're lucky

Neither of these girls believe in dying their roots. Aly is still way hotter than her troll sister.

All Biden needs to do to win the debate is keep his answers short so Palin gets more time to self destruct. Or course, keeping his answers short will be as much of a challenge for Biden as sounding intelligent will be for Palin.

Listen Richard I understand your point although you may not have expressed it as I would and although I may not agree with you I am impressed by your convictions. Energy costs and food staples have increased substantially but I don't see the connection with the current administration.

Give yourself a pat on the back for impressing us with your econ 101 lecture that is part of every undergraduate curriculum – trust me - I am familiar with the BLS stats. Obviously you did not read Richard's comment - he indicated that things have tripled since 2000. I am sure using any method you would like the CPI has not changed by 300% during the Bush Presidency.

What is the obvious answer to the undisputed worst presidency in history? Why, a man who agreed with him 90% of the time, that's what! Of course! MAN, some of you guys are stupid...

Anonymous Black Chick - ABC
Anonymous Black Chick - ABC

No, but your policies result in you guys dying 5 years earlier than the other developed nations, on average. So keep your crappy policies - some of you are too stupid to know any better.

McCain kills me. What a cynical choice for vice-president. All we need is a woman and some legs, that should get their vote. No experience or actual brain power or even the ability to contribute meaningful speech necessary. And what REALLY kills me is that some of you are stupid enough to fall for it. For that reason, you deserve whatever you get. Even if that means a 5-year shorter, on average, lifespan. Cheers!

I'm guessing you didn't understand what I wrote, I was agreeing with you that the gov't has made a conscious, coordinated, bipartisan effort to understate inflation and unemployment. It is why things are worse than the gov't is reporting.

eggs $2.50 per dozen

Note: Gas has more than tripled

Also note, all these people losing their homes. That you can't argue away. People aren't just not paying. This economy is making so bad they can't afford to live in the same house they could live in 4 years ago.

This in regard to Player:

Not sure if anyone here goes grocery shopping or fills up their gas tanks, but here are comparison prices from 2000 and now....

This is in the Northeast....Some essential of everyday living for the average no vegan.

2000 2008

Ground meat $1 per pound $3 per pound

eggs $89 cents a dozen $250 per dozen

Gas $99 per gallon $3.60 per gallon

Electric bill $123 per month $300 per month

Bread $1.29 $2.59

These are just basic examples of basic staples of living.

Hey great....Statistics is all in the presentation. Than why is everyone losing their homes, cars and why are middle class stuggling so much? What are they making it up?

No you can go to all the websites you want and look at statistics, but here is something fundamental about oil going from $14 dollars a barrel to over $100 that doesn't get lost in that statistics. Sorry, but economists are saying what I am saying.....You must be well off to not see through those numbers.

You obviously don't understand economics or statistics. If you go to the government's own sites (BLS.gov) you will see that under Clinton and Baby Bush they have changed the way they calculate the CPI, inflation the way it was calculated before Clinton was 11.7% last year, and has averaged over 7% this millenium. Also the inflation # they have used to calculate GDP was 2% and 1% respectively. Also, if you go to BLS.gov and look up u-6 unemployment, again the way it used to be calculated it's pushing 11%!

Oh God, I understand the problem, and Alan Greenspan was a big cause of it.

The correct action is to follow the recommendation of people who gave an accurate forecast of this problem several years ago, and accurately explained what the consequences would be. People like Jim Grant, John Paulson, William Fleckenstein, Paul Volker, Schiller, etc.

Richard - the inflation rate from 2000 - 2007 has been around 3%, 2008 was about 5%. So I am not sure what you are talking about when you state that everything has tripled. Now if you stated something that you paid $20 for in 2000 you are paying $25 then I would agree but thats only 25% not 300%.

Richard-Schlichting
Richard-Schlichting

So you want to bail out the people that created this huge bubble?

And do you want to finally step up to the plate and say...Hey I vote for George Bush....Sorry America.

Richard-Schlichting
Richard-Schlichting

Do you honestly think people want to lose everything? Do you think that is a walk in the park?

Richard-Schlichting
Richard-Schlichting

They aren't all irresponsible....8 years ago...Before George Bush took us into the wrong war.....A persons house was affordable. Than everything went up...don't you read the stuff I write for you. Jeez. Everything has tripled in the last 8 years and pay has certainly not gone up that much. So a good part of these failed loans are due to the middle class getting the shaft and predatory lending.....

So when did you take out your loan?

Right Wing Whack Job
Right Wing Whack Job

Ok, so people may believe I'm Pam. It really doesn't matter to me.

You already have the bailout all figured out, Richard. You want to reward people who took out irresponsibile loans and bail them out. I have a 30 year fixed mortgage and purchased a house I could afford and you want to raise my taxes and bail these assholes out. Brilliant!

Richard-Schlichting

The best solution would be, in my eyes, to sure up the bad loans. But why give Wall Street the cash. What if you gave those people that lost their homes a chance to get their homes and mortgages back on track. That may go a long way to suring up a lot of those subprime mortgages.

Meanwhile you have to let these over leveraged loan products deflate. That is the part that makes tax payers angry. Wall Street investment banks over inflated these derivatives to 5 and 6 times their value. And now they want the tax payers to cover the tab for all that over inflated money that never existed in the first place.

If you have any wheel power at all right your candidates, your congressmen and your senators and tell them that you will not support a bail out of Wall Street greed.

Instead they should use this money to give every American the change to either get their home back or get a new home. Sorry, but this deflation in the market isn't something that is unnatural.....The market was overinflated and need the air to be let out. Investment banks are just paying the cost of playing a game.

Unfortunately the only true solution is to get people able to get loans again and come up with an energy policy that lessins the price of oil or our dependence on it. America is screwed if the price of oil doesn't come down or as I said, we lose dependence. It is systemic and will lead to a true depression.

Just to note......Japan for the first time in many years has cut back exports 50% due to lack of demand and is actually having to report a trade deficit....There are humongous signs this economic problem runs very deep and that will probably cause the next worldwide depression very soon. If we spend $700 billion bailing out banks that took a risk and over inflated the market in the first place. We are only helping to keep it artificially inflated and when the market really crashes....We will have $700 billion less to do something about it.
