    Bingo.

  • The Devil

I guess I kinda feel what you’re saying, but why do you guys pay so much for them to do nothing???

  • FallenRawToast

that is because american media wishes we had a royal family too. It would make their job so much easier.

  • Nookies

Yeah, Thats my only complaint. If you guys treat it like a tradition and its a cultural thing thats fine N dandy. But its getting shoved down our throats via the American media, magazines, gossip sites..So im like WTF?

  • the judge

Licking stamps will be more fun if shes queen.
NB I do realise William will be on the stamps not Kate but shes a lot more boner inspiring.

  • AlinaMaria

Because people like tradition. It could be argued that your Thanksgiving celebrates the genocide of Native Americans but you’ll still celebrate it because it’s a long standing tradition.

The royal family aren’t perfect. I have to stress I am NOT a royalist but I appreciate the fact that we have these figureheads at the moment. Which is why I won’t complain about a Royal Wedding. I don’t see why the rest of the world have to be subjected to it but there must be some people interested…

  • Nookies

Yeah, Ima go with D55 on this..Which is very very rare lol..But watching privileged kids that was just born into it get married and make millions off of it isnt my cup of tea..Totally don’t understand the whole tradition/culture aspect from it. It’s no different than celeb moms selling their kids baby photos, staging photo ops. This is just one thing thats hitting all of the blogs and what not that has me going “WHY?” ..Most are the comments on other blogs is like “Why is this getting shoved down our throats” but I dunno :S

  • Nookies

Yeah, This is the first time I literally cannot word an argument or shit I don’t even know what to say it took me 15 min just to type that ^^

American’s have our Thanksgiving, 4th of July..Our president isn’t getting rich off of that..I literally cannot comprehend why British peeps would care so much about a prince getting married and that the media cares. I guess most of this is coming from why the US media cares. Cause I can’t understand it. It’s been on every gossip/news site/magazine there is and im left scratching my head :S

  • AlinaMaria

I know you aren’t trying to start anything! You’re just trying to put your views across. I honestly thought the same as you not long ago but now I have come to the conclusion that abolishing our monarchy would not only wipe away a hell of a lot of history and culture but also give our government more power. And honestly, if you lived here you would appreciate how scary that prospect is. The British government does now represent the people and the thought of them having more power actually makes me shudder.

  • AlinaMaria

Btw I didn’t hit the hater alerts then.

  • AlinaMaria

It’s a ceremonial thing for me. I’m not a royalist by any means and if you had asked me the same question about 5 yrs ago I would have been in favour of abolishing the monarchy. However, now my country that I was once so proud of is in a state of total disarray. The monarchy are one of the only consistent pieces of history that are steadfast at the moment. I don’t feel like a second class citizen to them because I appreciate them for just being figureheads. I don’t believe in a class system, I don’t identify myself as belonging to any one class. I get people’s distaste towards the monarchy but it all depends on what perspective you look at it from. If I felt downtrodden by the fact we have an active Royal Family then my sentiments might be different but to me they are figureheads which represent Britain’s history and I like that.

  • d55

Well, because people don’t think accepting you’re second class citizens to a handful of people who happen to be born more privileged than you is culture or tradition. There is nothing wrong with tradition or culture…if anything, they bond the citizens of a nation, increasing the likelihood of that nation surviving.

  • d55

to anyone that WAS* lucky enough to be born into royalty

  • d55

so your national identity revolves around kissing the ass of some old hag and her off-springs? LOL you know i like you, AM and am not starting to start anything but this is ridiculous.

  • AlinaMaria

Exactly! I’ll never understand why people have become so anti culture and tradition these days!

  • Caitie Harmful

Good for both of them. I hope they’re very happy.

  • d55

but don’t you think it is ridiculous that the asses of these people are kissed on a regular basis? “Long Live the Queen!” Why the hell? Who the hell is she? I mean, that country belongs to every british out there. Everyone that is british made that country what it is. If anything, these people did the least for that nation, sitting on their asses. A british farmer contributed more to that nation than them. Turks got rid of monarchy almost a century ago. The whole “royalty” idea is very primitive and forces you, at least mentally, to accept the delusion that you’re second class citizens to anyone that was not lucky enough to be born into royalty, and to say you identify with something like this is kinda sad. I’d say fuck the queen.

  • LaLa

Agreed. This is a celebration of British history and tradition, not to mention culture. The naysayers need not comment. I’m an Australian and even us Aussies are excited for the happy couple. I have no issue with the Monarchy and i’m pretty damned excited to have Will’s head on our coins.

  • salma

    I know! 😀

  • AlinaMaria

Also, the British tax payer pays around £0.62 per YEAR towards the Royal Family. Not that much really to be fair.

  • Hannah

    It’s just so BORING

  • Big Papi

Good looking girl for a brit.

  • AlinaMaria

There are girls like her aplenty here

  • Evil Dan

She’s like a 6/10. Prince William is balding though and is looking more and more like Charles as he ages, so I guess he decided to lock her up.

  • Nookies

It must suck for brits, to have their money basically stolen by them so the stuck up queen can live a life of luxery on the tax payers dime. Then this twat will make MILLIONS off of the wedding. Who gives a fuck. This crap is popping up everywhere. I could give 2 shits if some famous people got married, I could really care less if its royalty.(which shouldn’t even exist anymore) in another country.

  • AlinaMaria

I don’t expect non British people to care but the Royal Family are a part of our heritage and identity as British people.

  • AlinaMaria

That’s your opinion but speaking as a Brit I am more grateful than ever that we have a Royal Family. We are just about clinging on to our national identity as it is.

  • The Devil

Who gives a fuck about that old royalty bullshit?

This is why I’m glad I’m an American.

Oh shit, we went to pieces over Chelsea Clinton’s wedding too.

    *shakes head*

  • LaLa

Well I think she’s beautiful. She looks natural, elegant and is the epitiome classic beauty. I like that she doesn’t have a fake tan and huge fake tits. I would be appalled if he was to date a Playboy model. She is just the right fit for him.

  • Glimmer

    oh wow.so obvious… 🙂

  • d55

Who gives a crap? Some dumb ass will reply by saying, “you obviously do because you bothered to click on the post and write a comment” Yes, to let you and everyone else know that i do not care. She’s not hot; he’s always been ugly and goofy looking.

  • salma

I liked him veeeeeeeeeeeeery much but now I like his brother better, William is getting old too fast, he’s brother is a badass and William is a sweetheart but the little ginger one turns me on

    for obvious reasons

  • AlinaMaria

No! I think it’s very exciting!!!

  • AlinaMaria

    Wretched Camilla!

  • AlinaMaria

I think it will be a big day. I’m excited, it’s about time something positive happened in this God forsaken country.

  • vanos28

    f lucky bitch!

  • FallenRawToast

So will this be as huge a wedding and international big deal as Charles and Diana’s wedding? Gawd I remember being subjected to watching that for hours when it happened.

    No date yet, right?

  • azezeal

They do bring in a lot of revenue through tourism etc. but we only pay 62p per person which is a drop in the ocean compared to other taxes we pay.
