Abbie Cornish @ “Sucker Punch” Los Angeles Premiere

Not exactly the best outfit for the premiere of a kick ass “girl-power” action flick, but whatever. Looks like the marketing department didn’t do their part in convincing the mostly-female cast to ho-it-up on the red carpet. On that note, don’t expect Abbie’s co-stars to be rocking anything sexier on the red carpet either.

This is a unique release week for Abbie Cornish, in that she has another big-budget film also in theaters competing for moviegoer cash. Her film “Limitless,” starring Bradley Cooper, hit theaters last weekend (go watch it!). And by the way, has anybody been able to find a drug like that NZT they pimp in the film? E-MAIL ME!!

Anyway, here’s more about “Sucker Punch,” which hits theaters this Friday!

Snyder has described the film as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns”, including dragons, B-25 bombers and brothels. Snyder’s wife and producing partner Deborah Snyder concludes, “in the end, it’s about this girl’s survival and what she needs to do to be able to cope.”[8] In November 2010, Warner Bros. released the official synopsis for the film.[9]

Set in the 1950s, Babydoll (Emily Browning), who was sent to a mental institution in Brattleboro, Vermont by her step-father, has only her dreams and vivid imagination to provide an escape from her dark reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, blurring the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

Although she has been locked away, Babydoll has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls – the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung), and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) — to band together and try to escape from their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac), Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino) and the High Roller (Jon Hamm).
