USADA to strip Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour titles and ban him for life

Last night news broke throughout the cycling and sports world that all-time great Lance Armstrong would drop his fight against drug charges against him. What happens now is that the US Anti-Doping Agency will take action against Armstrong, removing him of his seven Tour de France titles and giving him a lifetime ban. Armstrong could get additional penalties in the future but for now these are the actions that will be taken towards him. Too harsh? I’m not sure at this point, Lance was quoted as saying “I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in winning my seven Tours since 1999. The toll this has taken on my family and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today — finished with this nonsense.” so it should be noted that this is not an admission of guilt, he just doesn’t think the fight is worth the sacrifices anymore. Now the question is: how does this affect Armstrong’s legacy?

One has to see that his accusations come in a sport where doping and cheating seem to be the normal. All one has to do is look at the men that finished closely behind Lance Armstrong in all those races, most of them have already been charged with the same things. Knowing all of this, how much does this really hurt Armstrong’s legacy as one of the greatest, if not THE greatest cyclist of all time? It has to be taken into consideration that his Livestrong foundation has raised massive amounts of money to help in the fight against cancer. Anyone else wear one of those yellow bracelets for a while? I did. Seriously, the man fought cancer himself so can you really blame him for trying to get the extra edge against his competitors? If he did in fact cheat, will people forgive him because he’s been so great otherwise. For now I think he just needs to weather the storm until things calm down and people react more rationally. Lance Armstrong will be remembered as a man who used illegal substances in a sport where it was extremely common but at the same time he did so much outside of cycling with his foundation to help the fight against cancer.

“Twilight” star Ashley Greene looked sexy in a very glamourously leggy red dress at a special “The Apparition” screening held at The Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd last night. Sadly for Ashley Greene, the film is getting ass-raped by critics with a 0% & average 1.7/10 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On the bright side, the Audience is showing love w/ an 80% rating, so let’s hope for the best come Friday when the film hits theaters. Along with Ash in the lead, the cast includes Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill, and Luke Pasqualino. So, where was Miley’s P.R. army peeps when she decided to chop the hair off? I don’t get it. At least her “I desperately need a new image” phase isn’t as crazy as Britney’s when she walked into a salon & got her hair chopped off in front of the papz. Miley kind of does all her crazy shit in private & then posts the photos via various social outlets, so she has some control over what gets out & what stays in her laptop for a bit until it gets stolen & eventually leaks to the public.

These were snapped yesterday afternoon (Thursday, August 23) as Miley was seen running around with a friend in SoHo doing some luxury shopping? Maybe she’s shopping for her upcoming wedding? Who knows and at the end of the day, who really gives a shit, right?

Eva Longoria & Jessica Alba to Address Democratic National Convention

So, yes, the Dems have George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and practically ever other A-lister in Hollywood (even Betty White!) ready to do their political bidding. Now add liberal advocates Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba to the list, both of whom will be addressing the Democratic National Convention in about 10 days when it unfolds over the Labor Day Weekend in Charlotte. Longoria will addressing the issues related to women, immigration, and gettingout the Latino vote, while Alba will be speaking to issues concerning children and working mothers.

Lest ye conservative friends are worried the Dems have all the Hollywood royalty, you still have Clint Eastwood. And Kelsey Grammer. And all the country singers a Bible Camp could wish for!
