Excuse the flood of “Spring Breakers” related photos, but the storm will soon pass once the premiere goes down later this evening at the Venice Film Festival. We’re still pretty surprised that festival organizers chose to screen this film, but hey, if youthful sex sells, it sells. Gotta stay with the times, right? We doubt it’ll take home the Golden Lion (the top prize at the festival), but it’ll definitely get a lot of press out of the whole thing.

“Spring Breakers” is scheduled to hit theaters March 5, 2013, so if you wanna watch it early, pull some strings & get your ass to Venice for the screening in a couple hours. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, James Franco & the writer & director’s wifie Rachel Korine, we have a feeling it’ll make a nice splash in theaters next year. Believe it or not, but Emma Roberts was in the original lineup before she dropped out in early 2012 due to “creative differences that couldn’t be resolved” (maybe it was a nude or lesbian scene?). She was subsequently replaced by Ashley Benson, who in our opinion, is the better/hotter option of the two chicks.

Here’s some plot action:

The four girls Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Faith (Selena Gomez), Brit (Ashley Benson), and Cotty (Rachel Korine) are best friends since grade school. They live together in a college dorm and want to go on an adventure.

For spring break the four girls hit Florida to celebrate their vacation. But they get into a lot of trouble after they run out of money and decide to rob a restaurant. Therefore they land in jail, later Alien a drug and arms dealer (James Franco) bails them out and wants them to do some dirty work. Source
