As expected Emma Watson’s new film “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” premiered at the Crosby Street Hotel in NYC’s SoHo district ahead of its wide release next Friday on September 21. As with the previous premiere in Los Angeles, Nina Dobrev wasn’t at last night’s screening unfortunately. Obviously not up to par, but filling in for Nina’s absence was another one of Emma’s young co-stars from the film, 20-year-old Erin Wilhelmi (more info on her official site).
Here’s some plot action:
Based on the novel written by Stephen Chbosky, this is about 15-year-old Charlie (Logan Lerman), an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he belongs. The introvert freshman who is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world. [Source]
