Last night the “A Night of New York Class” Gala was held at The Edison Ballroom in New York City. We have no idea how Pamela Anderson got on the invite list but she was billed to be Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. The organization honored Kathy Najimy and Kristen Johnston for their efforts in the fight against animal cruelty. Following the Royal Premiere of the new James Bond film Skyfall at Royal Albert Hall in London, Berenice Marlohe switched outfits for the afterparty held at the Tate Modern. Flight is the upcoming Robert Zemeckis (Cast Away) film starring Denzel Washington as Captain “Whip” Whitaker. Maria Menounos worked her near-perfect style on the set of “Extra” yesterday afternoon ahead of her interview w/ actor Jerry O’Connell, who stopped by to chat about his new NBC comedy “Mockingbird Lane.”

The pilot episode will air on October 26 as a Halloween special & gives NBC execs the option for a series order. The series is a remake of the 1960s CBS sitcom “The Munsters,” but from the clips I’ve seen, it just doesn’t live up to the original. It needs to be 10x more freakier, but I guess we’ll find out Friday. Also, we should note that the cast includes Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster, Eddie Izzard as Grandpa (Sam Dracula), Charity Wakefield as Marilyn Munster & Mason Cook as Eddie Munster.

Don’t know if there’s any truth to those Joe Francis rumors (i.e. he banged her), but Joanna Krupa isn’t commenting, from what we know. For those of you who don’t know, Joe Francis is the dude behind “Girls Gone Wild.”

Keeping tally w/ all the rumors swirling around helpess Joanna, let’s not forget that earlier this month TMZ plugged a story (via Nik Richie at TheDirty.com) that stated Joanna is a confirmed high-priced prostitute willing to bang a stranger for $10,000. How fucked up is that? Joanna obviously was quick to deny those rumors stating simply, “I’M NOT A HOOKER!!” God damn, why’s everyone after Joanna suddenly? She seems so hot & harmless. I guess having people create bullshit rumors about you is better than sitting on the sidelines and nobody giving a shit, right?

Hollywood Gears Up For “Lance Armstrong: The Movie”

“Two once-promising Armstrong dramas quietly have been dropped. Sony held high hopes for a project based on Armstrong’s 2001 best-selling memoir It’s Not About the Bike and tapped Frank Marshall (the Bourne franchise) to produce (Damon was rumored to star).” [THR]

Hollywood loves its biopics, especially come Oscar season, and no true life story is hotter today than that of fallen hero Lance Armstrong. Despite two recent attempts to bring his “inspiring” story to the big screen, only a documentary is currently being produced about Armstrong’s struggle with cancer and his triumph on the Tour de France. Clearly, the scandal that has rocked his career and stripped him of his medals has left him with seemingly few takers.

Studios are, however, biting at any idea that can make his story appealing to the masses in a way that shows him redeeming himself in the end. (It’s a marketing thing, see). So while the real life Lance Armstrong works to rebuild his reputation as an icon of perseverance, the reel life Lance Armstrong may have to wait to be brought to life. Audiences love a comeback. Just ask Rocky.
