Fashionable Attendees @ Samsung Galaxy Note II Launch Party

So Samsung Mobile really opened their wallets to pay for a whole lot of appearance fees to fill the launch party for the Samsung Galaxy Note II. As with most launch parties for mobile devices, we’re going to assume that almost none of these attendees actually care to learn more about the product but rather were suggested to attend by their publicist. Our guess is that all these ladies are iPhone users either already own an iPad or will be hitting up, actually sending their assistant, to their local Apple Store once the iPad Mini is released. Anyways, so the Samsung Galaxy Note II is already available for some US carriers AT&T amd Verizon in the near future. Learn more about it at the Samsung Galaxy Note II website.

L.A.: Victoria Justice Killin’ It On “Fun Size” Red Carpet Premiere

FUN SIZE Premiere held at The Paramount Studios in Los Angeles

Before we say anything, we gotta send a big “Thank You” to Mrs. Justice (Victoria’s mom) for not playing the over-bearing parent role and over-dressing Victoria (i.e. covering every inch of her daughter’s body with thick clothing). While we’re dishing out praises, we might as well give props to the Paramount-hired stylists who put together this look. They kept it simple and when you’re Victoria Justice, simple is perfect.

Following her media blitz in NYC, Victoria returned to Los Angeles & hit the red carpet premiere for her new film “Fun Size” held at Paramount Studios. As we stated before, the Nickelodeon-produced, PG-13-rated film stars Jane Levy, Thomas McDonell, and Chelsea Handler. This is a teen comedy, but we have a feeling a lot of older dudes will be creeping into late-night showings. For those of you looking hit this up, be very careful if you’re sitting next to or directly in front of creepy looking dudes who’re sitting alone.

Here’s some plot action:

In Cleveland, Ohio[3], Wren (Victoria Justice) is invited to a Halloween party by her crush, Aaron Riley (Thomas McDonell), but she is also ordered by her mother (Chelsea Handler) to take her oddball little brother Albert with her when she goes out trick-or-treating on Halloween. When she loses him in a haunted house, she must find him before her mother finds out. So she ends up borrowing a car from some boys and they team up to find Wren’s brother. They end up going through a lot of trouble to find him and go through some crazy shenanigans. Source

Buccaneers surprise Vikings at home on TNF

Last night’s game between the Vikings and the Buccaneers was uncharacteristic in so many different ways it was hard to wrap your head on what exactly just happened. It wasn’t exactly a crazy game, the most intense moment happened during an altercation between Jared Allen and Donald Penn. Was anyone surprised that Allen got a sack immediately following the scuffle? The visiting Buccaneers used a monster game from RB Doug Martin (135 rush yds, 1 TD; 79 rec yds, 1 TD) to lead them to a victory against a superior Vikings team 36-17. Or at least the general consensus was that the Vikings (now 5-3) were the better team coming into this game, especially on a Thursday night game where it seems like every home team is at an obvious advantage. How did these two teams find their way to this result? For Tampa Bay it was offensive efficiency, every time that I looked up at the TV it seemed like they were in the middle of a long drive. They used a strong game from Martin (pictured above) with the occasional big play to convert critical third downs. For the Vikings it was turnovers and the inability to stop 3rd downs when they needed most. Is this Vikings team a contender? They need to get a couple of victories before their bye week because after that, their schedule is absolutely brutal.

Normally i’d pick a game with a bigger line but this week i’m going slightly closer: I’m taking the Redskins visiting the Steelers (-4.5) to go into that hostile environment and surprise the Terrible Towel. Steelers have too many injuries and if RG3 (by far the most entertaining player in the league) can pull this off, we know for sure he’s the real deal.

On a side note, i’ll be attending this Sunday’s game between my Cowboys and the Giants. With all the injuries the Cowboys are facing and Eli Manning being 3-0 in the new Cowboys Stadium, let’s just say i’m a bit nervous going to this game. Still, it can’t stop me from having fun. Go Cowboys!

Selita Ebanks wasn’t the only attendee at the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City but given that we’ve got maybe seven readers (and that includes Moe, Jackson, and Devon counted as three seperate individuals though they’re all the same person), why waste our time with the likes of Renee Zellweger, Viola Davis, and Sarah Jessica Parker? Anyways, the theme of the night was Dream Catchers with designer Carolina Herrera as the superstar honoree. Hosted by Simon Doonan, tickets were $350 a piece. So lost up in all the events there was also the Merabi Couture Launch Party held at Selfridges at The Trafford Centre in Manchester, England. Merabi Couture is the work of Nadine Merabi whom we have no idea who she is but yeah, there was a launch party and there were attendees. On to the poll…

Maria Menounos was amongst the attendees (and really the only attendee worth posting) at the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery 2012 Visionary Ball held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Honorees included Chelsea Handler, Kate Berg, and Elon Musk (CEO and Product Architect of Tesla Motors). The event raised funds and awareness in support of those with the most complex neurological disorders. To learn more, visit the UCLA Visionary Ball website.

Daniel Day-Lewis Explains How He Arrived At Lincoln’s Voice

“You begin with the places that would have made a huge difference in his life. Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois, and the counties that he came from. There are some early recordings, but no contemporary recordings — lucky for me, so no one can say positively that it’s not what he sounded like.”[THR]

This year’s surest best for an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, Daniel Day-Leiws in Lincoln, revealed the method behind his legendary method acting skills at a press conference sponsored by TIME in which the star appeared alongside director Steven Spielberg. Day-Lewis went into great detail explaining how he arrived at the voice he used for Lincoln, saying, “”There are also a number of contemporary accounts about the quality of his voice, and I’m inclined to think that having had a voice that was intended to be in the higher register, tended to be placed more in the head tones, that helped him reach a greater number of people in his public speaking. Stump speaking was such a huge part of their lives, they spoke sometimes for two hours or more without notes, at that time regularly. And beyond that, I suppose it really was just an act of imagination.”

Check out the full article. It reveals a lot about the impetus for the film and what we can expect from this year’s early Oscar favorite. Really fascinating stuff about the man who is arguably Hollywood’s greatest living actor.
