MacFarlane Plans Follow-Up to $501 Million Mega-Hit “Ted”

timthumb.php

“MacFarlane and his ‘Ted’ co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild have penned A Million Ways to Die in the West, which sources say MacFarlane is planning to star in and direct, for summer 2013.”[THR]

How will Seth MacFarlane top himself after the mega success of global hit Ted and his upcoming stint as host of the 2013 Oscar ceremony? By writing, directing, and starring in his next feature, tentatively titled A Million Ways to Die in the West.

No, there isn’t a sequel to Ted in the works (at least from what we know from our sources), but MacFarlane has been getting hit with offers from left, right, and center to appear in front of the camera in a starring role (stoners and fans of raunchy humor rejoice!). A Million Ways to Die in the West is being described as a “Blazing Saddles-style movie — meaning a Western with contemporary humor, with one undercurrent being just how dangerous and painful life really was in the late 1800s.”

Sounds pretty off-kilter to us, which is just how McFarlane likes to operate.
