Ugh, Rex Reed. He gives us film critics a bad name . . . as if we weren’t hated enough already! (Yes, I read all of your hate mail and troll comments).
The less-than-classy movie critic of the New York Observer has taken his disdain for the new comedy Identity Thief out on its star Melissa McCarthy who he has termed a ‘tractor-sized’ ‘hippo’ and ‘a gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success.’
McCarthy, who has spoken about her weight and insists that she is healthy, has not commented on Reed’s less than charitable remarks. It might behoove Reed to take a lesson in self-awareness if he really wants to talk about people whose careers are ‘devoted to being obnoxious.’View All Photos ›
