“Seyfried is coming off playing Cosette in Universal and Working Title’s Oscar-nominated adaptation of Les Miserables. She also has the much-buzzed-about Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace, awaiting release.[THR]
Something tells us this one will be decidedly less raunchy than Ted but no less hilarious. Seth MacFarlane is following up the success of his 2012 runaway hit with Million Ways, a comedy set in the wild, wild West with Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried. MacFarlane is himself starring in the lead role.
The story is about a yellow-bellied farmer (MacFarlane) who is deserted by his girlfriend (Seyfried) after withdrawing from a gun fight. He soon finds himself in the clutches of a villainous mastermind’s better half (Theron) who teaches him how to shoot and win back the girl of his dreams.
Not sure if the whole “learning to shoot” thing will go down well in the wake of the Newtown gun tragedy, but one thing’s for sure: if anyone can make current events hilarious with the right mix of satire and self-aware irony, it’s the man behind Family Guy.
Production is slated to start in early May.
