“Guy Ritchie is directing the big-screen adaptation of the classic 1960s TV series.”[THR]
George Clooney reportedly passed on Guy Ritchie’s big screen version of the 1960s classic series Man From U.N.C.L.E., which has left producers with some options: Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, Joel Kinnaman and Michael Fassbender among them.
But now it seems that Tom Cruise is the name that will save the project from certain death if Ritchie and Warner Bros. can convince the star to take up the lead role of a Cold War era American spy.
If Cruise passes, the film will be dead, since it has been in development for what seems like an eternity now. And if he accepts, he has to contend with the reality that not everyone is as eager to see Cruise play yet another undercover spy trying to take down a cadre of international baddies.
Can we just get a sequel to Jerry Maguire? That would complete us.View All Photos ›
