It’s nice to see that Reese Witherspoon sobered up & issued a statement on Sunday via her publicist: “I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”

As most of you guys already know Reese Witherspoon was arrested on Friday night for acting like a complete idiot when her hubby Hollywood agent Jim Toth was pulled over for a DUI. Reese tried to pull the whole “You know who I am?” card, but luckily the police office had no clue & he proceeded to arrest the couple.

Reese was arrested on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct early Friday in Georgia after a state trooper said she refused to stay in the car while Toth was given a field sobriety test, which by the way, he miserably failed. It’s one thing to be completely irresponsible to drink & drive and then it’s a whole another thing to jump on top of your celebrity high-horse and think you’re the shit.

Before the field sobriety test began, Witherspoon got out of the car, was told to get back in and obeyed, the report said. After the “Walk the Line” star got out a second time, the trooper said he warned her that she would be arrested if she left the car again.

As the test continued, “Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer. I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet,” Trooper First Class J. Pyland writes.

Toth, 42, was then placed under arrest. He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain the lane.

At that point, the report says, Witherspoon got out and asked the trooper what was going on. After being told to return to the car, she “stated that she was a ‘US Citizen’ and that she was allowed to ‘stand on American ground,’” the report states.

The trooper then began to arrest Witherspoon. The report says Witherspoon was resistant at first but was calmed down by her husband. Source

The non-mugshot photo was snapped at last night’s screening of “Mud” in NYC. The coming-of-age film, which is written and directed by Jeff Nichols, stars s Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon. Here’s more about the film:

Mud is a fugitive who becomes friends with Arkansas teenagers Ellis and Neckbone. The fugitive attempts to reunite with his love Juniper, and the teenagers help him evade the authorities.

Disappointing conduct.  I don't care that she gave a cop a hard time, fuck da police, but this was about an actress acting like she's above everyone else.  Fuck her.

@McP Exactly. And if it was behavior that was only risky to her and her husband then fine, but they could have injured other people by driving drunk. Also, whenever a celeb pulls the "Do you know who I am?" card, I lose a lot of respect for them. Sorry but you're not above the law because you're well known.

She's lucky she didn't end up in a cell with "Big Bertha".  So much for her sweet and innocent image.

she has bounced back from the last kid, this honestly makes me like her a lot more
