Since time is a little tight today, we’re going to focus on the big “xXx: Return Of Xander Cage” premiere in Hollywood. It was a fairly star-packed premiere, so there are plenty of faces to keep you guys busy—at least those of you aren’t preoccupied with the inauguration.

Before we move to the commenting on the photos, here’s more about the new film, which is the third in the “xXx” franchise. Hitting theaters this weekend, the film stars Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Nina Dobrev, Toni Collette and Samuel L. Jackson.

Extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), thought to be long dead, comes out of self-imposed exile as recruited by the CIA to race villain Xiang (Donnie Yen) to recover a powerful weapon known as “Pandora’s Box” which can control military satellites which could cause catastrophic damage. Recruiting a group of thrill-seeking cohorts (a sharpshooter and a hacker), Xander finds himself caught up in a deadly conspiracy of corruption among world governments including insiders in his own country’s government. Here’s the trailer—the opening photo features Vin Diesel and Bollywood star Deepika Padukone:

Damn, those are lot of tats! Can you imagine what Ruby Rose will look like when she’s 60? Not sure about you guys, but Hermione Corfield has our attention.

Major “OW!” to Paloma Jimenez and can somebody tell Maria Menounos to buy longer dresses? Those legs look painful.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Camilla Alves, & Matthew McConaughey at the “Gold” Film Premiere in NYC

The premiere was held last night at AMC Loews Lincoln Square in NYC.

We wish we could say that Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey once again struck gold with his latest film, but sadly critics online are trashing his latest effort (see Metacritic & Rotten Tomatoes). As an apparent consolation from the award show circuit, “Gold,” a film that released on December 30th and is co-produced by Matthew McConaughey himself, received a Golden Globe Award nomination for its self-titled original song. You can listen to it below:

Here’s more about the film:

Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey), an unlucky businessman, teams up with geologist Michael Acosta (Édgar Ramírez) to find gold deep in the uncharted jungles of Indonesia (Borneo). Source

Kara Del Toro & Others Spice Up “The Space Between Us” Screening in L.A.

“The Space Between Us” (see the Wiki) is an upcoming science fiction film directed by Peter Chelsom, produced by Richard B. Lewis and written by Allan Loeb. The film stars Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson, Gary Oldman, and Carla Gugino. As we’ve seen in past premieres, Kara Del Toro always seems to be the hottest one one the red carpet and most of the time she isn’t even in the film (nothing wrong with that of course). The screening was held last night at The Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood.

Here’s more about the film:

In this interplanetary adventure, a space shuttle embarks on the first mission to colonize Mars, only to discover after takeoff that one of the astronauts is pregnant. Shortly after landing, she dies from complications while giving birth to the first human born on the red planet – never revealing who the father is. Thus begins the extraordinary life of Gardner Elliot (Asa Butterfield) – an inquisitive, highly intelligent boy who reaches the age of 16 having only met 14 people in his very unconventional upbringing. While searching for clues about his father, and the home planet he’s never known, Gardner begins an online friendship with a street smart girl in Colorado named Tulsa (Britt Robertson). [Read more]

Sienna Miller & Stephanie Pratt At The ‘Live By Night’ London Premiere

I know, I know, Stephanie Pratt is a reality TV hasbeen, but hey she was at the “Live By Night” premiere held at BFI Southbank in London earlier in the week. She isn’t a cast member, so it seems like she just enjoys playing dress up attending A-list premieres.

The new crime drama has “Ben Affleck” written all over it. Not only does he star in the film, but he’s also credited as the writer, director & producer. Other cast members include Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana, and Chris Cooper.

Here’s more about the film:

Set in the 1920s and 1930s, the story follows Joe Coughlin, the prodigal son of a Boston police captain. Joe is a World War I veteran of Irish descent who is in love with Emma Gould (Sienna Miller), mistress of the notorious gangster Albert White (Robert Glenister), who is the boss of the Irish Gang of Boston. Joe’s father, Thomas Coughlin, disapproves of Emma. Joe and Emma decide to move to California to escape the wrath of White, but to their misfortune the head of Albert’s rival, Italian Mafia Maso Pescatore (Remo Girone), finds out about their affair and blackmails Joe to kill Albert. Joe refuses, as he was done with killing after the war, to which Maso threatens to inform Albert. Joe commits a bank heist with his partner Dion Bartolo (Chris Messina), during which three police officers are killed in the ensuing chase. On the day of their planned escape, Albert catches Joe (following a trap created by him and his goons that involved Emma betraying him) and nearly beats him to death before the police arrive and arrest him for the policemen’s murders. Anya Taylor-Joy Promotes M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Split’ In Italy

Director and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan’s latest horror flick “Split” is making its way through the promotional channels. Compared to hit previous films, “Split” seems to be on the low-budget end of the spectrum with its $5 million price tag. The film quietly premiered last September at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, at which time Universal Pictures scooped up distribution rights.

As for Anya Taylor-Joy, she’s a 20-year-old Argentine-British actress born in Miami. She scored one of the starring roles alongside James McAvoy. Here’s more about the film:

After a wholesome teen birthday party, three girls are kidnapped in broad daylight: friends Claire (Haley Lu Richardson) and Marcia (Jessica Sula), and difficult outsider Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy). Their captor Kevin (James McAvoy) locks the trio in a windowless room, then proceeds to frighten and baffle them. One minute he’s wearing eyeglasses and obsessive about cleanliness, the next he’s presenting as female, and later he acts like a nine-year-old boy. It is revealed that Kevin exhibits 23 alternate personalities, and in order to escape, his captives must convince one of the personalities within him to set them free, before the arrival of the 24th and final personality, the “beast”. ‘xXx Return of Xander Cage’ Premiere in London: Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose & Deepika

If you thought Priyanka Chopra was a big Bollywood star, Deepika Padukone is even bigger back home in India, so it will be interesting to see how she’s received on the big screen by her old & potentially new fans around the globe!

I’ll be completely honest, I haven’t watched any of the films in the “xXx” franchise, but I’m assuming 95% of the scenes are packed with Vin Diesel flexing his “tough guy” muscles. I’ve seen my share of Jean-Claude Van Damme & Steven Seagal flicks back in the day, but for some reason, I no longer have the patience for those types of movies. Is that something that happens with age?

As for the photos, what’s up with Ruby Rose? She looks like a cross between old-school Angelina Jolie with a really pointy chin. And, Nina looks 10x sexier at this event than she did at the Globes or walking through LAX.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel at “The Book Of Love” West Coast Premiere in LA

If you want to read a random plot summary, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s more about the new drama “The Book of Love,” which was originally titled “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea,” but I guess someone shot that down.

Henry (Jason Sudeikis) is an introverted architect. After his wife Penny (Jessica Biel) is killed in a car accident, he sets out to help Millie (Maisie Williams), a homeless teen, build a raft to sail across the Atlantic. Source

The film actually premiered at Tribeca back in Spring, 2016, but producers are choosing to release it right now. You know what means. Typically January & February are one long & painful month in Hollywood that feature a disproportionate number of B-list action flicks & dumpy dramas. It’s ironic since these are the two months Hollywood spends praising it’s A-list stars & films.

On paper, the film appears to be promising—and who knows, maybe it’s worth spending $13—but judging by the fact that it premiered at The Grove shopping center, we’re going to assuming the suits aren’t expecting a box-office home run with this one. The cast features Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Jason Sudeikis, Mary Steenburgen, Orlando Jones, and Paul Reiser. And, oh yeah, we should mention that Justin Timberlake did the film’s music.

Our Favorites From The W Magazine’s Best Performances Party

Jordan DuffyPhoto Credit: FameFlynet Pictures; Jordan Duffy

Here’s another party held to celebrate this weekend’s 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Last night, W Magazine threw a party to celebrates the Best Performances Portfolio and the Golden Globes with the help of co-sponsors Audi and Moet & Chandon. The star-studded party, which also included guests like Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, and Michelle Monaghan, was held at the ultra-exclusive Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood.

Jordan Duffy looked great, but what’s up with that thing tied around Hailee Steinfeld’s legs? Why didn’t she just wear a simple evening gown? And, apologies in advance for posting Millie Bobby Brown. We found out later that she’s ONLY 12!! What the hell is a 12 year old doing at an evening party at the Chateau Marmont. It’s no wonder these kids get involved with drug & alcohol abuse so early in life.
