The new film ‘Kong: Skull Island‘ had a big, star-studded premiere at the Dolby last night in Los Angeles. Our favorites on the red carpet included the film’s lead actress Brie Larson and Christina Milian (not in the film). The film, which hits theaters this weekend, features a deep cast including A-list names like Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman. Here’s more about the film, along with trailer:

Emma Watson Needs To Burn All The Pant-Suits In Her Closet!

The “Beauty and the Beast” actress wore patterned pant-suit as she arrived on set to do “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” but thankfully Emma Watson wore a completely different outfit when she appeared on screen for her interview. You can watch a clip of the interview below.

We’ll probably be seeing Emma for a week longer as she continues her “Beauty and the Beast” promotional tour. The film, which is a live-action re-imagining of Disney’s 1991 animated film of the same name, will go into wide-release on March 17.

And The Oscar Goes To…Oops. Plus, Our Favorites From The Red Carpet

Scarlett Johansson, Viola Davis, Emma Stone and Jessica BielPhoto Credit: FameFlynet Pictures; Scarlett Johansson, Viola Davis, Emma Stone and Jessica Biel

Not sure how many of you guys watched through the fireworks finale at the Oscars last night, but I’m sure your Facebook/Instagram/Twitter feeds are probably buzzing with clips of how everything collapsed on live television during the Best Film announcement.

Long story short, Warren Beatty didn’t have the courage to speak up. The man was holding the card for Best Actress (Winner: Emma Stone, “Lala Land”) as opposed to Best Film (Winner: “Moonlight”), but somehow he made the rapid mental substitution that he would simply disregard the category & actress name as some sort of freak typo and go ahead and allow his announcing partner Faye Dunaway to do the honors by reading the film name on what was obviously the incorrect card. This quick and dirty act of simply glossing over critical details is a common error in human misjudgment that psychologists have known about for years, but for it to present itself on such a grand stage in front of countless million viewers is simply amazing. I think it’s safe to say that people won’t forget the moment anytime soon.

For all the evening’s nominees and big winners, check here.

Here’s the full backstage interview with director Barry Jenkins and members of the “Moonlight” cast:

Emma Watson Does A ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Photocall in Paris

I have a feeling this will be the first of many promotional events for Emma Watson before Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ hits theaters next month on March 17. This is one of the first of many classics that plans to give the live-action remake treatment in the coming years. The film stars a deep cast that includes Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. Here’s the plot & trailer:

Belle is a young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle in exchange for the freedom of her father Maurice. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and she learns to look beyond the Beast’s exterior to recognize the true heart and soul of the human Prince within. Meanwhile, a hunter named Gaston is on the loose to take Belle for himself and later intends to hunt down the Beast at any cost.

Our Favorites From HBO’s ‘Big Little Lies’ Premiere In Hollywood

Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and Kathryn NewtonPhoto Credit: FameFlynet Pictures; Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley and Kathryn Newton

“Big Little Lies” is HBO’s upcoming new comedy-drama miniseries based on the book of the same by Liane Moriarty. The series, which premieres later this month on February 19, will star a deep cast including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgård and many others. Normally when you get so many big names working on a big project, it turns into shit, so it will be interesting to see how director Jean-Marc Vallée and writer David E. Kelley prove us wrong.

The premiere was held last night at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. You can read Variety magazine’s recent review here.

Not that you need an Oscar-winning actress to star in “Tomb Raider” or anything, but hey, it couldn’t hurt, right? Apparently the photos were snapped on set as 28-year-old Swedish actress Alicia Vikander was spotted doing action scenes on the upcoming “Tomb Raider” reboot film in which she scored the starring role of the always-sexy Lara Croft (previously played by Angelina Jolie). Fashionable Ladies – Premiere Of Universal Pictures’ “Fifty Shades Darker” 1

Rita Ora, Dakota Johnson, Bella Heathcote and Halsey Photo Credit: FameFlynet Pictures; Rita Ora, Dakota Johnson, Bella Heathcote and Halsey

We’re not sure how many of you guys went out and watched “Fifty Shades of Grey,” but judging by its crazy success at the box-office with the first film, it doesn’t surprise us at all that producers are going all in with the series. For the record, the first film had a production of $40 million and raked in roughly $571 million at the box-office! Now, that’s what I call a great return!

These latest photos were snapped at the ‘Fifty Shades Darker‘ film premiere yesterday at The Theatre at Ace Hotel. According to the film’s Wiki, the cast includes Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan star as the leads Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, with Kim Basinger, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini scoring supporting roles. Here’s more about the film:

Following the events of Fifty Shades of Grey, Anastasia “Ana” Steele tries to move on from her relationship with Christian Grey. A wounded Christian convinces her to resume their romance under Ana’s conditions. As the couple begins their normal relationship, Christian’s past threatens to tear the couple apart. Source

Ruby Rose & Others at the “John Wick: Chapter 2” Premiere in Hollywood

As we mentioned in a previous email, Ruby Rose is set to star in a number of films this year, thanks mainly to her popularity on the Netflix series “Orange Is the New Black.” Earlier in the month, Ruby was on the red carpet promoting “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” and sometime later this year, she’ll be back on the red carpet at the “Pitch Perfect 3” premiere. Looks like somebody has cornered the franchise market, but hey, as long as the fat checks are rolling, it’s all good!

These latest photos were snapped last night at the “John Wick: Chapter 2” premiere held at The Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood. Following a near-4x return on the 2014 original, it was only natural for the producers to roll the dice with a sequel! Aside from Keanu Reeves and Ruby Rose, “Chapter 2” stars Common, Laurence Fishburne, Riccardo Scamarcio, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane. The film will hit theaters next weekend.

More about the film:

Legendary hitman John Wick is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome, where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.[Source]

And finally, judging by all the ladies in attendance, I think one of our trademark polls is in order…
