Cannes Film Festival: “Dracula 3D” – Asia Argento, Marta Gastini

Dracula 3D is the upcoming horror film directed by Dario Argento. Thomas Kretschmann stars as Dracula while Rutger Hauer stars as Van Helsing. Asia is Lucy Kisslinger and Marta as Mina. The film isn’t an adaptation but rather features elements of Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula”. We don’t yet have any wide release date info but you can keep posted at the Dracula 3D official website.

A young librarian, Jonathan Harker, is welcomed at Castle Dracula by the Count and a young woman named Tania, who seems intent on seducing Harker. The Count prevents Tania from biting the young man, but Dracula attacks Harker himself, leaving the him weak. Harker attempts to escape the castle, but is killed by a wolf. Harker’s wife, Mina, arrives in the village and stays at the home of her friend, Lucy Kisslinger. Worried about her husband, she visits the castle, and falls under the spell of the Count. [Wiki]

Argento has been part of the Legendary Tiger Man’s project Femina, and the album was released 14 September 2009. She is featured on the song Life Ain’t Enough for You, which was released as a single along with the B-side Il Mio Stomacco É Il Piu Violento de Tutta Italia, in which she also contributes with her voice. She appeared in Placebo’s music video, This Picture, and featured on a cover version of Je t’aime… moi non plus with Placebo frontman Brian Molko and dance producers Trash Palace. Argento has also starred in Catherine Breillat’s period drama, Une vieille maîtresse (An Old Mistress). Wiki
