The 2014 Latin Grammys took place in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Enrique Iglesias and Calle 13 were the big winners of the night. Enrique took home 3 awards while Calle 13 took home a record-setting 21 awards. The group won best alternative song for “El Aguante” and urban music album for “Multiviral”. Other winners included Paco de Lucia, Juanes, Marc Anthony and Carlos Vives. Mariana Vega won best new artist and Joan Manuel Serrat was named person of the year. Hugo Boss Prize 2014 was held at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Every two years the prize singles out artists whose oeuvre constitutes an outstanding contribution to contemporary art. It honors both young, up-and-coming artists as well as their established contemporary counterparts. This year’s recipient was Paul Chan, taking home $100,000 in prize money. The 2014 Latin Record Academy Person of The Year ceremony took place in Las Vegas. Joan Manuel Serrat was honored at the event which was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Juanes, Vicentico, Diego Torres, Ruben Blades, Calle 13, Pablo Alboran, and Miguel Bose were amongst those who performed. Serrat, who will celebrate 50 years since his first public performance this coming February, just released Antología Desordenada (Disorganized Anthology) on Sony, a four-CD set of 50 of some of his biggest hits, most re-recorded, including 31 duets with different artists.
Gigi Hadid, Isabeli Fontana, and Sasha Luss were amongst the celebrities who attended the 2015 Pirelli Calendar Red Carpet in Milan. This will be the 42nd edition of the calendar, with photographer Steven Meisel having shot some of the most beautiful women in the world over a five-day shoot last May in New York City. Models included Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, Sasha Luss, Anna Ewers, Carolyn Murphy, Cameron Russell, Gigi Hadid, Candice Huffine, Karen Elson, and Joan Smalls. The 2014 Hollywood Film Awards were held at The Palladium in Los Angeles. Winners included Benedict Cumberbatch, Julianne Moore, Keira Knightley and Shailene Woodley in addition to the films “Gone Girl” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”. The Los Angeles special screening of “The Imitation Game”, hosted by Chanel, was held at DGA Theater. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing along with Keira Knightley as Joan Clarke. This British-American historical thriller film about British mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and pioneering computer scientist Alan Turing, a key figure in cracking Nazi Germany’s Enigma code that helped the Allies win World War II, only to later be criminally prosecuted for his homosexuality. Ciroc Pineapple hosted French Montana’s birthday party celebration in Bel Air. Apparently Khloe and French continue their on-again, off-again relationship and from the reports and all the photos from the party, it looks like their on-again. Kim, Kylie and Kris were also on hand along with guests like Snoop Dogg, Rocsi Diaz, Gretchen Rossi and Lilly Ghalichi.
