The beautiful Emma Watson drove photographers wild as she catwalked down the red carpet alongside her ‘Bling Ring’ co-stars, as well as the film’s writer, director & producer Sofia Coppola. Emma seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience as she blew kisses to all her fans while soaking it all in. We’re pretty sure she’ll walk down the red carpet at Cannes on a number occasions over the course of her career.

In a recent interview, Emma sheds some light on why she chose this role: “It wasn’t like I needed to go out there and try to find the furthest from Hermione [her 'Harry Potter' character] so I could get away from her. That seems like a negative place to jump off from; trying to get away from something rather than trying to get towards something.

“What I’m trying to get towards is that I want to be a character actress. I want to play parts. I want to play roles that transform me. Nicki seemed like an opportunity to do that.”

Here’s some plot action:

Inspired by actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers, Rebecca (the ringleader), Marc, Nicki, Sam and Chloe, known as the Bling Ring, use the Internet to track celebrities’ whereabouts in order to rob their homes. Victims included Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Audrina Patridge, and Orlando Bloom. Source

Here’s an interview Emma did earlier today in Cannes with BFMTV:

Today’s featured film at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival is the anxiously awaited film by writer & director Sofia Coppola, ‘The Bling Ring‘. The film makes its big world premiere to nit-picky critics from around the globe, not to mention a jury that’s comprised of names like Steven Spielberg & Ang Lee, so let’s hope for the best. If Sofia Coppola can impress this bunch, then we can only expect great things going forward once the film goes into wide release next month on June 14.

The film’s cast, which includes everyone’s favorite Emma Watson, as well as a few new faces in Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Taissa Farmiga, & Claire Julien. Unlike yesterday’s cloudy weather, ‘The Bling Ring’ ladies were welcomed with sunny skies for the photocall ahead of tonight’s glitzy red carpet premiere.

“The Bling Ring” Looks Hilarious; Full Trailer Just Hit The Net!

Emma Watson in The Bling Ring

I gotta admit, I’m very intrigued! Considering we live in a celebrity-crazed society, I have a feeling this will make a killing at theaters–at least for Emma Watson’s sake, we hope that’s the case!

We just learned the film will screen at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival (May 15-26), so it’ll be nice to see Emma & the cast workin’ not only the glamorous red carpet, but also various star-studded parties later in the evenings, assuming she sticks around long enough. The film will go into wide release on June 14.

Here’s the new trailer:

Emma Watson did some photos in the Press Room at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards after receiving the MTV Trailblazer Award. As the website puts, “The award is given to an actor who, despite their age, has managed to inspire others with a diverse portfolio of work and a transcendent reputation in the public eye.” Since starring as Hermione Granger in all those Harry Potter films, Emma has branched out to roles in My Week With Marilyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the upcoming films The Bling Ring and This Is The End. Okay, so the last film isn’t a serious roll but you can only hope the trailer hasn’t already spoiled Emma’s role.

As for the award show, check out the full list of winners and for more information, visit the 2013 MTV Movie Awards official website.

We wrote about this earlier in the week when the cover leaked, but since then there are a few more pics from the shoot. Emma’s looking great & I’m looking forward to more magazine covers, as well as appearances as she goes on a worldwide promo tour to pimp her upcoming film “The Bling Ring,” which hits theaters on June 14.

The actress, who’s taking a more classy approach when it comes to breaking out her ‘Harry Potter’ shell, as opposed to Disney starlets Vanessa Hudgens & Selena Gomez who simply whored-it-up in “Spring Breakers” in an attempt to “mature” as actresses. I’m kinda digging Emma’s approach more & I have a feeling “The Bling Ring” will be a much better film as well.

Emma reveals her love for “The Bling Ring” saying, “When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it.”

She went a little deeper by adding exactly what caught her eye: “The character is everything that I felt strongly against – she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her.”

Emma also went on to say that for the first time, she really felt like she was acting because the sexy role she takes up in “The Bling Ring” is definitely a far cry from her actual character. “This has been a really big departure for me; it’s a really big character. That’s so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting.”

The film, which is written, produced & directed by Sofia Coppola and serves as a wonderful transition as Emma slowly grows up in front of everyone. The pressure for success is obviously very high, but Emma remains literally unfazed by it all. She’s using her “Hollywood, F You” money (thanks to ‘Harry Potter’, of course) and doesn’t appear to be in a rush to ditch her good-girl image. She proved it last month when she bluntly addressed “50 Shades of Grey” rumors via Twitter stating, “Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.” It was Hollywood’s attempt to force feed a role down her throat, but she wasn’t having it.

Overall, I gotta admit, Emma sounds very happy & comfortable with where she’s at in her life & career. Let’s just hope she doesn’t fall in love & fuck it all up by getting married anytime soon.

This photo was part of a shoot that 22-year-old actress Emma Watson did with James Houston & we’re pretty sure her horndogg fan base around the net will undoubtedly have a lot of fun with it.

As most of you know, Emma’s big upcoming release is “The Bling Ring,” which is directed, written and produced by Sofia Coppola and set for release on June 14. Emma’s co-stars in the film include Leslie Mann,Taissa Farmiga, among others. For those of you who don’t know much about the plot, check it:

Inspired by actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers, Rebecca (the ringleader), Marc, Nicki, Sam and Chloe, known as the Bling Ring, use the Internet to track celebrities’ whereabouts in order to rob their homes. Victims included Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Audrina Patridge, and Orlando Bloom. Source

Aside from that film, the other big news surrounding Emma is that she turned down the live-action Disney adaptation of ‘Cinderella’—THANK GOD! Major props to Emma & her team for not following the money b/c what’s the point of having all that “Hollywood, F-You” money if you can’t use it to do projects that are slightly more challenging than dressing up as a princess? I’m glad that Emma wants to do more adult-oriented roles and steal quality roles from chicks like Jennifer Lawrence.

And with regards to adult-oriented roles, the Hollywood rumor mill tested waters by leaking that Emma was in talks to star as the lead character in the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trilogy. Sadly, Emma shot down rumors with a quick Tweet over the weekend:

Here’s the trailer for “The Bling Ring”:
