The star-studded 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards (visit the official website) were held at the The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica last night and, believe it or not, but I actually watched a few minutes of it. Many people believe that the CCA’s are usually an excellent predictor the upcoming award season leading up to academy awards in February, so we’ll see how last night’s winners hold up as the weeks go by. Having said that, a few more heavy-hitting Oscar favorites will release over the next couple weeks, so those names will get added to the nominations list.
Let’s review the big winners from last night:
Best Picture: “La La Land”
Best Director: Damien Chazelle – “La La Land”
Best Actor: Casey Affleck – “Manchester by the Sea as Lee Chandler”
Best Actress: Natalie Portman – “Jackie as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis”
Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali – “Moonlight as Juan”
Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis – “Fences as Rose Maxson”

Both Emmy Rossum & Kirsten Dunst spiced things up on the red carpet in their own way at last night’s big Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft theatre in Los Angeles. I wouldn’t say Kirsten Dunst is exactly easy on the eyes like Emmy Rossum, but I think that’s fairly obvious when you take into consideration what she wore on the red carpet last night.
Looks like a pretty interesting project, especially when you consider the cast which includes Will Forte, Seth Green, Domhnall Gleeson, Joel McHale Thomas Lennon, and Natasha Lyonne. The upcoming Netflix-funded comedy is “about comedy writer Doug Kenney and the rise and fall of National Lampoon, based on the book of the same name by Josh Karp.” The film will hit Netflix sometime in 2017.

Actresses Emmy Rossum, Olivia Wilde and Rose Byrne were on hand for the big Marimekko For Target launch held at The High Line in NYC. The three ladies wore mainly black and looked like they were attending a funeral as opposed to a launch party. As the Finnish company’s new collection for Target has a more beach feel and best of all, the prices aren’t crazy like they are on the company’s official website.
More About Marimekko from Target: “Simple and spirited, Marimekko infuses its authentic Nordic sensibility and iconic prints into a signature collection of fashion and home pieces. Splashed with color, pattern and purpose, Marimekko is a true hallmark of Finnish art and design that never goes out of style. We have Marimekko artist, Maija Isola to thank for these prints and patterns.”

Just like they do every year, A-listers got dolled up and appeared on the red carpet at the 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards held at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. We’ve chosen just a few of our favorites for you guys to put under the microscope.
Famous couples that caught our eye were Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, who got married back in August. They haven’t divorced yet, so it looks like they might hit the six month mark! Good for them! And, newly engaged Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham were also there showing off the $350K engagement bling! We’re still looking for a high-res close-up of the rock.
With respect to the show, it was broadcast on A&E, and hosted by “Silicon Valley” actor T. J. Miller. “Spotlight” won Best Film while “Mad Max: Fury Road” took home the most awards (9) after receiving the most nominations (13). Individual award winners included Leo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Sylvester Stallone, Alicia Vikander, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Christian Bale and Amy Schumer. Check out the full list of winners and nominees. Visit Critics’ Choice for complete coverage.

In addition to our earlier posts, here are a few more of our favorites to catwalk down the red carpet at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Aside from Kirsten Dunst, whom we were forced to brown bag (not that anyone was looking at her face), the other ladies on our shortlist should please even the pickiest among you bastards (OK, we’re probably overreaching with that previous statement).
Hosted by Ricky Gervais, some winners of the night were “The Revenant”, “The Martian”, “Mr. Robot”, “Mozart in the Jungle” along with individual awards going to Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Jon Hamm, Matt Damon and Jennifer Lawrence, to name a few. Check out the full list of nominees and winners.
‘Billions’ is Showtime’s new drama series starring Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti and Malin Akerman, which is set to premiere on January 17 (you can actually watch the first episode online). Members of the cast, as well as a select stars of Showtime’s other shows, were on hand to celebrate a premiere event held a NYC’s Museum of Modern Art.
Here’s actress Emmy Rossum stopping by Hugo’s Tacos in Sherman Oaks to grab her takeout as she heads home following a long day on set filming scenes from the upcoming “Shameless” season. The show, which first premiered back in 2011, will kick off its sixth season in mid-January, 2016.
Aside from career-related news, we should mention that Emmy announced her engagement to writer/director Sam Esmail back in August. The couple have been dating for two years, so it appears Emmy’s finally ready to settle down and possibly pop out a couple kiddos.
In August 2015, Rossum became engaged to writer/director Sam Esmail after two years of dating.
Emmy Rossum visited Gearys jewelry store in Beverly Hills. This past month Emmy got engaged to Sam Esmail who she first met when he directed his future bride-to-be alongside Justin Long in the 2014 film “Comet”. Included in the gallery are some other photos of Emmy from this past month including her appearance at the Verizon go90 Sneak Peek at the Wallis Annenberg Center.
