Gabrielle Union once again served as the bootylicious host of the BET Honors Presented By Pantene at Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. This year’s list of honorees was highlighted by the beautiful Halle Berry, in addition to Chaka Khan, T.D. Jakes, music exec Clarence Avant and basketball player Lisa Leslie. Marketing peeps at Hennessy put together a pretty sweet party to help pimp their “Wild Rabbit” campaign. The event was held last night at Highline Studios in NYC. We had to show some love to Martin Scorsese b/c let’s face it, the guy’s the man. As for Gabrielle Union, I understand I’ve said this on numerous occasions (each time we post her), but does this woman ever age?! It’s seriously insane! DAAAMNNNNN YOUUUUUU, DDDD-WAAAAAAAAAAAADEEEE!!!

Red Carpet: Clive Davis & Recording Academy’s 2012 Pre-Grammy Gala

Despite Whitney Houston’s death yesterday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton, the pre-Grammy festivities rolled on—even at the very hotel the late pop superstar was found dead (inside her hotel room bathtub). Aside from the drugged-out lifestyle over the past decade, for someone to go from the armpit of America’s inner city (Newark, NJ) and call it quits inside the Beverly Hilton, that’s not too bad, right?

I gotta admit, there were some big names missing on the red carpet, but that’s completely acceptable considering the circumstances. Here’s a selection of notable attendees at last night’s pre-Grammy gala thrown by Clive Davis & the Recording Academy. The Beverly Hilton was awfully busy last night, with the fourth floor eerily buzzing with a police investigation and the hotel’s main hall in party-mode celebrating not only tonight’s Grammy Awards, but also Whitney Houston’s life & music career.

L.A.: Ladies Who Attended The “Think Like A Man” Premiere

Think Like A Man is an upcoming movie adaptation of Steve Harvey’s book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Directed by Tim Story, the movie isn’t set for release until April 20th so we’ll all pretty much forget about it by the time that date comes around. Red Carpet Ladies: BET Honors 2012 in Washington D.C.

On the other side of the country in Washington D.C. over the weekend, away from all the Golden Globes celebrations, BET Honors 2012 took place at the Warner Theater, once again hosted by Gabrielle Union. Michelle Obama headlined as she came out and stressed service and urged the black community to be sure to vote in the 2012 presidential election. The taping will air on February 13th at 9/8c.

Red Carpet: 2011 American Giving Awards in Los Angeles

God damn, I’m sure Colin Farrell had something to give to 2011 Miss USA Alyssa Campanella! That bastard.

These were snapped last night at the American Giving Awards held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. The inaugural award show will air on NBC tonight (December 10, 8-10 PM EST) and be hosted by Bob Costas. Here’s more about the award show:

American Giving Awards will grant a total of $2 million to the five featured charitable organizations, which were selected from a list of 25 previous CCG grant recipients with the help of some of Chase’s online customers as well as Chase Community Giving (CCG) Facebook fans. The organization with the most votes will receive a $1 million grant, the runner-up will be granted $500,000, a third organization will receive a $250,000 grant and two will be given $125,000 grants.

“I’m happy to be a part of a program that promises some excellent entertainment in support of some very worthy causes,” said Bob Costas.

Each charity will be presented by top stars from motion pictures, television, music and sports, who will introduce five remarkable organizations. Along the way, there will be special musical performances and several surprises for the charities being honored.

“We are excited to televise the first ever American Giving Awards and celebrate these terrific charities,” said Doug Vaughan, Senior Vice President, Special Programs and Late Night for NBC. “We hope that this event will draw even more support for all of the causes featured in this special telecast.” [Source]
