Jared Leto Becomes Unrecognizable for “Dallas Buyers Club”

Jared Leto is oft noted for having one of those standard Hollywood pretty boy faces. What he isn’t often cited for is his acting method, which has been taken to new (and unrecognizable) heights for his new role as a transsexual woman living with AIDS in the 1980s for the new film Dallas Buyers Club in which he stars alongside Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey himself has been in the news lately for his dramatic weight loss for the role he is playing, but Leto is utterly unrecognizable with his newly emaciated and hairless body.

We know Hollywood loves it when hot, young actors play gay or tranny, and especially when they go the full monty (so to speak) by changing their appearances so much that no one can tell who they are (or who they used to be). As such, expect Leto to pick up a hefty kitty of award nominations next year. This could be the next The Crying Game!

We’ve all been following Matthew McConaughey’s near-frightening transformation into to his character for his upcoming film ‘Dallas Buyers Club’, but don’t leave Jared Leto out the transformation convo!! The 40-year-old “American Psycho” star was spotted on the set in New Orleans in full drag as she filmed scenes alongside co-star Matthew McConaughey. The film also stars Jennifer Garner, but judging by her recent candid photos, she isn’t going through any sort of crazy physical transformation (that we can notice).

I would love to get Camilla Alves‘ take on her hubby’s change of physique. Let’s face it, Matthew McConaughey looks like a completely different person than the one we’ve watched run around shirtless in pretty much every other film in his career. It’s pretty fucking crazy, to say the least.

For those of you who don’t know much about the upcoming drama, here’s some plot action:

Loosely based on the true-life tale of Ron Woodroof, a drug taking, women loving, homophobic man who, in 1986 was diagnosed with full blown HIV/AIDS and given thirty days to live. He started taking the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved AZT, the only legal drug available in the U.S, which brought him to the brink of death. To survive, he smuggled non-toxic, anti-viral medications from all over the world, but yet still illegal in the U.S. Other AIDS patients sought out his medications forgoing hospitals, doctors and AZT. With the help of his Doctor, Eve Saks and a fellow patient, Rayon, Ron unintentionally created the Dallas Buyers Club, the first of dozens which would form around the country, providing its paying members with these alternative treatments. The clubs, growing in numbers and clientele, were brought to the attention of the FDA and pharmaceutical companies which waged an all out war on Ron. “DBC” follows Ron Woodroof’s personal fight to survive which lasted 2191 days when he died on September 12, 1992, six years after he was diagnosed with the HIV virus.
