So the event to be at last night was the 2013 Miss Golden Globe Awards hosted by the HFPA and InStyle at Cecconi’s restaurant in West Hollywood. However, the actual honoree of “Miss Golden Globe” didn’t make this megapost of attendees. Francesca Fisher-Eastwood was named Miss Golden Globe 2013. It’s traditionally the child of a famous person that wins the honor. Basically her job will be to escort the winners on and off the stage at the Golden Globe Awards next January. ‘Battlestar’ at Comic-Con: A clue about the final Cylon
There was a lot of talk — much of it emanating from the emcee, director, comic-book enthusiast and “Battlestar” fanatic Kevin Smith — about how Katee Sackhoff’s character, Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, is a gay icon, a role model for women and a character who likes to always have the most guns. Sackhoff told a funny story about a scene in which she got to shoot two guns at once. During that action sequence, a director once told Penikett, who plays Helo on “Battlestar,” to stop “acting like a girl.” Source
If you’re a fan of Battlestar Galactica and CSI:, prepare to be disappointed. Really, super-duper disappointed. TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello is reporting that Katee Sackhoff (who plays Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, but you already knew that) was tantalizingly close to joining the cast of CSI as Jorja Fox’s kinda, sorta replacement. The new character, named Bryce Adams, was set to be a series regular. Executive producers and show runners were all jacked up and ready to welcome Sackhoff to the CSI family. They basically thought it was a done deal, according to Ausiello. However, at the last minute, executives from CBS and Jerry Bruckheimer’s production company got cold feet. They didn’t feel Katee was right for the role, apparently, and now the search for Bryce Adams has been re-opened. Source
