Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel European premiere took place at the Empire Leicester Square in London. Produced by Christopher Nolan of The Dark Knight Trilogy, Henry Cavill stars as Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El with Amy Adams as his Lois Lane. Also starring in the film are Michael Shannon as General Zod, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Only God Forgives is the upcoming Ryan Gosling film which got booed and trashed at Cannes. Written and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, the film also stars Kristen Scott Thomas and Vithaya Pansringarm. Selected to compete for the Palme d’Or, given the boos we think it’s likely out of the running. Keep up with the film on Facebook and look for it in theaters on July 19th.

Julian (played by Ryan Gosling), is an American hiding in Thailand running a Thai boxing club and smuggling drugs simultaneously. His brother Billy (Tom Burke) murders an underage prostitute, setting off a chain of revenge killings leading straight back to him. After Billy is killed, Julian is relayed the news, and then finds himself caught in the middle of extreme violence and bloodshed whilst trying to find the man responsible. The situation only get worse after his mother Crystal (Kristin Scott-Thomas) turns up to collect her dead son’s body, hence getting involved herself. The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards also had some special honorees which included Anderson Cooper presented with the Vito Russo Award, Adam Lambert presented with the Davidson/Valentini Award, and President Bill Clinton was presented the Advocate for Change Award by Jennifer Lawrence. The GLAAD awards pay tribute to “inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.” The event was hosted by Drew Barrymore and other presenters included Charlize Theron and Leonardo DiCaprio. The 21st annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party hosted by Sir Elton John and David Furnish raised $6 million for the fight against HIV/AIDS. The party was held at West Hollywood Park and co-sponsored by Chopard, Neuro Drinks, and Wells Fargo with American Airlines as the Foundation’s official sponsoring airline. Some of the auction items included two sets of tickets to join Sir Elton John and David Furnish at the Vanity Fair party that sold for $150,000 each; five days at Steven Tyler’s Hawaiian retreat for $250,000.
