As it was widely reported yesterday, Katherine Webb is the latest celebrity to bow out of the ABC reality series ‘Splash’ due to an injury. The 23-year-old Miss Alabama hottie, who shot to fame during the broadcast of the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, made the decision to leave the show following consultation with her doctor. Considering she was the hottest contestant on the show, this might be a fatal blow to the short-lived series from a ratings standpoint.
These latest photos were taken as the sexy beauty queen quickly left L.A. & presumably headed back to Alabama to reunite with her boyfriend AJ McCarron. I guess during her time in L.A., this chick could score a big-shot producer boyfriend nor could she land a better gig than a reality show about celebrities diving. She better hang on to Mr. Star Quarterback Moneybags real tight!!
Katherine Webb stopped by The Grove to do an interview with Mario Lopez for the Extra TV. As you know, she’ll be exploited on ABC’s celebrity diving competition Splash. If you’ve seen the promos her name leads the way of the celebrity participants. Other female contestants of note are Kendra Wilkinson, Keshia Knight Pulliam (Rudy Huxtable), and Nicole Eggert (definitely not looking like the 1992 Blown Away/Baywatch version). The show premieres next month, March 19th at 8/7c. Visit Splash at ABC.com.

With a crazy cast that includes the likes of 7’2″ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to morbidly obese comedian Louie Anderson to Chelsea Handler’s dwarf assistant Chuy Bravo (wait, he’s a dwarf, right?!), the show looks like it’ll be really funny when it premieres March 19. We’ve included some recent photos of the show’s celebrity contestants as they continue their training on the diving board.
Alabama QB & soon to be ex-boyfriend of model Katherine Webb was showing off her body as she was spotted doing warm ups with actor & singer-songwriter Drake Bell while training for the new ABC reality TV series ‘Splash!’. The show is scheduled to make it’s big premiere on March 19 with a long list of celebrities/hasbeens to help kick off the first season. I’ll be honest, I’m kinda diggin’ the show concept & I’m shocked that it came so late. With the right group of people (mainly beautiful & hot ones), the show can definitely score a large audience.
Here’s the cast of the inaugural season (not the best, but there are a couple gems in there—Kareem & Chuy Bravo–dwarf dude on Chelsea Handler’s show):
Here’s ABC’s take on the series:
ABC announces the first round of celebrities to join the cast of Splash (formerly titled Celebrity Diving). From one of the most beautiful women on the planet to a legendary athlete and a larger-than-life comedian, these celebrities will look fear in the face as they leap off the 10-meter high dive, pair off to complete synchronized stunts, and flip, twist and spin into the depths of the pool below. Each week the competition will get stiffer as the dives and challenges increase in difficulty.
Splash marks the first time 10 celebrities will train and compete in regulation platform and springboard diving at dizzying heights in front of a weekly poolside audience. Leading up to the competition, the world’s most decorated and medaled diving legend, Greg Louganis, will give each celebrity weeks of training. Each dive will be critiqued by the judges, London Olympic U.S. Gold medalist David Boudia and Australian Olympic athlete and USA Dive Team director Steve Foley. Splash premieres TUESDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on The ABC Television Network. [Read more]
Katherine Webb continues to strike while the iron is hot, taking advantage of her 15 minutes of fame by following up her appearance in SI Swimsuit Issue with accepting a spot on ABC’s next celebrity reality tv competition, Splash. So basically it’s a diving competition with Steve Foley and David Boudia as judges and Greg Louganis as mentor.

The 2013 SI Swimsuit Issue supermodels were almost out in full force last night (where you at Irina?!?) driving dudes wild on The Strip in Las Vegas as they hit up 1 Oak Nightclub in The Mirage to host “Club SI Swimsuit”. Yes, all your favorites were there including Katherine Webb who once again killed it on the red carpet. But in addition to 1 Oak, later on in the night, Genevieve, Emily, and Kate Bock stayed out even later to host a VVIP After Party at The Bank Nightclub in The Bellagio (hence why we didn’t bother posting their red carpet appearances at 1 Oak). Be sure to check out all our borderline-creepy coverage of the 2013 SI Swimsuit Issue and remember to cast your vote (in our non-official poll) for who you think should be 2013 SI Swimsuit Rookie of the Year! …and our Favorite Body Paint Model poll too!!

I’ll be honest, I don’t know exactly where Sports Illustrated plans to go, but in order to keep things interesting at future events, S.I. should consider the possibility of auctioning off their swimsuit models for a weekend to famous sugar daddies where, of course, all the money raised would go to various charities around the globe. It’s for a good cause, damn it!! Just think about it, some dude could be cruising around in his frickin’ yacht in Miami with Nina Agdal or one of the rookies! I’m pretty sure S.I. could easily raise a few million & possibly even create long-lasting relationships. Again, it’s all for a good cause!!
