As we mentioned earlier in the afternoon, the famous red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival was rolled out ahead of tonight’s big opening ceremony. Walking on the red carpet were A-list members of the jury which included names like Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee, & Christoph Waltz. Before the opening ceremony festivities went down, all jury members & guests were treated to a screening of ‘The Great Gatsby’, which already had a very successful opening last weekend at the box-office.

Below are a selection of our favorite fashionable ladies on the red carpet. It’s nice to see singer Lana Del Rey, who’s behind the film’s hit single ‘Young & Beautiful’, made a rare red carpet appearance. For those of you who haven’t done so already, make sure you check out the film’s soundtrack, which features tunes by Jay-Z, will.i.am, Kanye & others. It’s definitely one of the better soundtracks in a while.

The cast of ‘The Great Gatsby‘ made a fashionable appearance at a photocall earlier today as the 66th Cannes Film Festival officially kicked off! The big red carpet event will be nothing short of glamorous when things go down later this evening (it’s 4PM in Cannes as of this writing) as one of the biggest Hollywood stars (Leonardo DiCaprio) walks alongside Amitabh Bachchnan, who’s quite possibly one of the most famous men on the planet (but probably unknown to most people in the U.S.).

The film released last weekend to a huge take at the box-office even though critics didn’t find it anything special. Audiences are raving about it, so make sure you check it out & decide for yourself. Here’s Abba’s review of the film.

Even though he came alone, we’re pretty sure that he didn’t go to bed alone following the big premiere. Following the film’s official release on May 10, Leo & gang will head to France to open the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival (kicks off on May 15). It’s funny how the dude always finds a way to make it to the Mediterranean around this time of the year, except this time ‘The Great Gatsby‘ distributor Warner Bros. will probably pick up the entire tab. What a great fucking deal.

These latest photos were snapped yesterday afternoon in Los Angeles as pimp-daddy Leonardo DiCaprio was surrounded by bikini-clad ladies on a yacht for some sort of shoot. Definitely not a bad gig. I can hear his agent pitching him the gig:

Leo’s Agent: “Ok, I got you on a yacht with six chicks in swimsuits. They pay $5 million & it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours. Plus, you can take two of the girls back home.

Leo: “Make it $8 million & three chicks and I’m down.”

Leo’s Agent: I’ll work on it.

Leo: “Did you get a hold of Irina Shayk or Candice Swanepoel for me?

Leo’s Agent: I’m working on them. I think I can get Irina to bite over the next couple weeks.

Maybe he’s raking in millions for one of his environmental non-profits by doing another alcohol commercial? Who really knows & gives a shit as long as it pits Leo in the middle of a potential orgy later in the evening. For those of you who missed it, here’s the commercial Leo did for Jim Bean (shown only in Asian markets) last month in Miami:

As some of you might remember, Leonardo DiCaprio kicked off 2013 by telling a German daily that he’s taking time off, saying, “I am a bit drained. I’m now going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out.” Shedding light on his plans, he stated, “I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment.” We’re pretty sure sleeping with beautiful women along the way is something that’s good for the environment.

Leo’s not disappearing anytime soon as he has two fairly big releases planned for this year. Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” hits theaters on May 10 and Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf Of Wall Street” is due out late in the year. Check the “Gatsby” trailer below:

If we had deeper pockets, we’d have gotten the photos ourselves, but sadly that’s not the case. Leonardo DiCaprio was seen cruising poolside with a group of friends as a mystery blonde quietly walked up, kissed him goodbye & quietly walked away. Leo didn’t even flinch, but rather lit up one of his electronic cigarettes & dived into his Blackberry (probably) looking over a shortlist of hotties that he’s scheduled to bang over the next few days. That bastard.

First of all, these were snapped earlier today in Barcelona, Spain as supermodel Bar Refaeli was on hand to present the “We Love” collection by designer Desigual as part of the 080 Barecelona Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 going down right now.

Before we close, we should (once again) take a second to speculate whether Leonardo DiCaprio is still getting a piece of Bar Refaeli on the side? It’s even more likely these days considering Leo’s enjoying a self-imposed hiatus from acting and has plenty of time in his schedule to have sex with former lovers. We’re pretty sure they’re on non-exclusive terms, but we can’t say conclusively until the former lovebirds are spotted out together.

These latest photos of Leonardo were snapped earlier in the week in Malibu as he earned a little extra play-money on the side by filming a commercial for Jack Daniels that will air in Japan. When we say “little money,” we’re pretty sure it’s upwards of $2-5 mil. Hey, if Chanel can cough up $8 million for Brad Pitt, then why can’t Jack Daniels open their pockets for Leo?
