‘Billions’ is Showtime’s new drama series starring Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti and Malin Akerman, which is set to premiere on January 17 (you can actually watch the first episode online). Members of the cast, as well as a select stars of Showtime’s other shows, were on hand to celebrate a premiere event held a NYC’s Museum of Modern Art.

With respect to upcoming projects, Malin is working on the horror-comedy ‘The Final Girls’, which also stars Taissa Farmiga, Alexander Ludwig, Nina Dobrev and Thomas Middleditch. The film finished shooting earlier this spring and is scheduled for a 2015 release. Here’s more:

Global Green USA held their 11th Annual Pre-Oscar Party At Avalon in Hollywood. Global Green USA is dedicated to rebuilding communities subject to environmental degradation. The zero-waste party rose over $20,000 during the live auction following the plant-based dinner. Musician Michelle Branch modeled a Gemesis three-stone conflict-free lab grown diamond ring, which sold for $12,000. [Source]
The 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards took place at Nokie Theatre in Los Angeles. Aired on CBS and hosted by Two Broke Girls Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, the award show honored those who were chosen by the general public in a variety of categories. Performances included One Direction, Brad Paisley, and Sara Bareilles. The big winner was Sandra Bullock who won four of her five nominations, including Favorite Movie Actress. Other winners from last night also included Britney Spears, Kaley Cuoco for The Big Bang Theory, Johnny Depp, and Naya Rivera along with Lea Michele for Glee. Actress Malin Akerman shows off her legs while filming a scene for the upcoming season of ABC’s new series “Trophy Wife” wearing sexy tennis gear in Burbank. While filming Malin’s nanny brought her son Sebastian to the set for a visit.
We should mention that soon after popping out the kid, Malin announced her separation from her hubby of six years Roberto Zincone. Judging by her big smiles as of late, she seems like she’s in a good place these days.

As some of you might have heard, the ‘Rock of Ages’ actress recently broke the news about her split from hubby Roberto Zincone after six years together. This is believed to be the first time she has been seen in public after reportedly splitting from the drummer. The couple are parents to seventh month old son Sebastian, so it appears there was a lot of tension following the birth.

CBGB is the upcoming film about the famous NYC club by the same name, directed, produced, and co-written by Randall Miller. Last night’s west coast premiere took place at the ArcLight Cinemas in L.A. and featured all the stars of the film. Ashley Greene stars as Lisa Kristal while Malin Akerman stars as Debbie Harry. HBO’s Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Post Award Reception was held at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center. As you’ve probably already read many time, the award show took place at Nokia Theatre and was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. HBO lead the way in nominations and took home 3 awards for Behind the Candelabra while Veep, Modern Family, Breaking Bad, Homeland, and The Colbert Report all took home 2 awards each.
