Apparently there’s a ton of sex that goes down during the Olympics simply because athletes are locked-up in the Olympic Village with a bunch of ultra-fit, mostly single, sexually repressed people who are simultaneously experiencing the biggest moment of their lives. It’s no wonder the Olympic Committee provides them with 150,000 condoms during the event. As Hope Solo told ESPN in a recent interview, “Unlike at a bar, it’s not awkward to strike up a conversation because you have something in common. It starts with, ‘What sport do you play?’ All of a sudden, you’re fist-bumping.”
And of course, what starts with fist-bumping makes a natural progression to other forms of bumping. The crazy amounts of sex is definitely no secret, but with the wholesome nature of the Games, it mostly goes unreported. You can read more about sex @ the Olympics on CNN.
As for these photos of US Olympic swimmers Nathan Adrian & Natalie Coughlin, the two were spotted grabbing a few Lebanese kebabs at Ranoush in London a couple nights back (Monday, August 6). Natalie’s supposedly married one of her swim coaches back in 2009, but judging by the way Nathan Adrian’s giving her a soothing back massage, it appears they’re more than just back-rub friends (at least during the games).
