I think it’s safe to say that it’s time for Heidi Klum to go easy on those over-the-top-sexy, low-cut dresses and start opting for something more classier. I hate to tell a former fashion model to take notes from 50-year-old actresses like Nicole Kidman, but judging by the way both ladies looked on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards last night, Heidi needs to at least consider it. Just like a lot of supermodels past their prime tend to do at some point, Heidi definitely suffers from a major case of hindsight bias when it comes to her level of sexiness. Sure she’s doing great for a 44-year-old woman, but more often than not, she’s going to end up looking more trashy than sexy if she keeps dressing like she did last night.

“Big Little Lies” is HBO’s upcoming new comedy-drama miniseries based on the book of the same by Liane Moriarty. The series, which premieres later this month on February 19, will star a deep cast including Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgård and many others. Normally when you get so many big names working on a big project, it turns into shit, so it will be interesting to see how director Jean-Marc Vallée and writer David E. Kelley prove us wrong.
The premiere was held last night at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. You can read Variety magazine’s recent review here.
It’s not even in wide-release yet and the upcoming drama “Lion” is already generating a tremendous amount of Oscar buzz! The film screened last night at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art.
It appears “Slumdog Millionaire” star Dev Patel has another major international hit on his hands! The Australian-American-British drama, which is directed by Garth Davis and based on a true story (as told in the book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley), stars Rooney Mara, David Wenham and Nicole Kidman.
Here’s more about the film:

So, this is the best dress Nicole Kidman could find to wear to the 60th Anniversary Women of the Year Awards? This is the classic “I’m-really-famous-and-I-need-to-look-different” trap that forces women into tricking themselves into wearing something embarrassing on the red carpet. Fortunately for Nicole Kidman, I’m sure people were just surprised that she was invited to the event.

We were all very busy over the weekend, so we completely missed Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women luncheon held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel last Friday. Since we don’t normally see A-listers like Jessica Alba, Charlize Theron, and Nicole Kidman hitting up events together, especially considering all three ladies were styled to perfection.
Presented by Lifetime & sponsored by Movado, the exclusive event hosted 450 guests including Hollywood insiders from all walks in order to support and pay tribute to Hollywood’s seven most philanthropic women. The honorees included Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Amy Poehler, Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Hudson and Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal.
Here’s Charlize chatting up the media…
Others also chimed in…
Jessica Alba: “Entertainment is so fun and I love doing it, but this really feels like I’m doing my little part to make the world a better place,” J.Alba said while discussing her consumer goods company, The Honest Company. “If you’re blessed with a platform and access to pop culture and media, and you have the heart, being able to raise awareness for things that you care about is amazing.”
Amy Poehler had the funniest comment: “Giving to charity is good for your skin,” she said, “and it makes your (butt) smaller.”

As we mentioned earlier in the afternoon, the famous red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival was rolled out ahead of tonight’s big opening ceremony. Walking on the red carpet were A-list members of the jury which included names like Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee, & Christoph Waltz. Before the opening ceremony festivities went down, all jury members & guests were treated to a screening of ‘The Great Gatsby’, which already had a very successful opening last weekend at the box-office.
Below are a selection of our favorite fashionable ladies on the red carpet. It’s nice to see singer Lana Del Rey, who’s behind the film’s hit single ‘Young & Beautiful’, made a rare red carpet appearance. For those of you who haven’t done so already, make sure you check out the film’s soundtrack, which features tunes by Jay-Z, will.i.am, Kanye & others. It’s definitely one of the better soundtracks in a while.

Normally they’re competitors, but over the next eleven days Oscar-winning directors Steven Spielberg & Ang Lee will work together to judge films & ultimately decide which film will with the coveted 2013 Palme d’Or, the film festival’s top prize.
Aside from the two Hollywood bigwigs, others serving on the jury include the beautiful Nicole Kidman, Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, Japanese director Naomi Kawase, Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, Indian actress Vidya Balan, French actor Daniel Auteuil, and British director Lynne Ramsay.
“Alongside stars Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd and Carell, “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” will also feature cameos from Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig and James Marsden.” [HuffPo]
Here’s a gal you don’t often think of when you think of hilariously juvenile movies like anchorman: Nicole Kidman, Queen of the Character Driven Small Budget Melodrama.
The Porcelain Ice Maven will, however, be seen alongside her Bewitched co-star, Will Ferrell, in the upcoming Anchorman sequel in which it is revealed that she has a “very special” cameo.
As the movie releases December 20, Kidman’s cameo has already been shot in Atlanta. Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson – who memorably appeared in the original – are also said to be reprising their roles.
Let’s hope this doesn’t go the way of Valentine’s Day with a bajillion celebrity cameos.
Top Row: Stacy Kiebler & George Clooney, Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones, Justin Theroux & Jennifer Aniston, Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan
Bottom Row: Naomi Watts & Liev Schrieber, Julie Yaeger & Paul Rudd, Francois Pianault & Salma Hayek, Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Following up on the fashionable ladies who walked the red carpet are the fashionable couples that walked the red carpet that 85th Academy Awards. Now we can report on the other big winners of the night where Argo took home Best Picture while Daniel Day-Lewis took home Best Actor for Lincoln. We’d previously reported that Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook and Anne Hathaway took home Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables while Christoph Waltz took home Best Support Actor for Django Unchained. The 2nd Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards went down tonight at the Star Event Centre in Sydney (it’s already the 31st over there). The Australian-produced comedy “The Sapphires” starring Chris O’Dowd, Deborah Mailman & Jessica Mauboy received the most feature-film nominations with twelve. The film currently has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so I gotta admit, I’m already very curious. Aside from that, Russell Crowe hosted the event. Hit the official website to view all the nominees.
