I’m pretty sure Warner Bros. already has a “swatting” screenplay in the works!

Believe it or not, but the latest trend in Hollywood is not fashion-related, but rather some random dude or possibly even a group making fictitious 911 calls with stories of elaborate crimes unfolding at homes of prominent celebrities living in the Los Angeles area. In short, prank calls are made with a shocking story involving sounds of gunshots, loud altercations & even weapons caches at luxurious homes of some of Hollywood’s brightest stars. Once LAPD receives the call, they rush to the celebrity’s home decked-out in full armor only to discover no crime is in progress or in some cases, the celebrity in question isn’t even at home.

The latest victims include Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Diddy & Selena Gomez, so let’s go over the stories dished to the LAPD simply because the dude(s) behind this are obviously very creative…

Diddy – Swatted April 3:

More than a dozen police cars and two helicopters raced to the Bad Boy mogul’s L.A. home yesterday after a 911 caller claimed that someone was shot inside the residence. After securing both Diddy’s house and his neighbor’s, actor Steve Carell, the cops determined that the call was a prank and dispersed. (Source: BET)

Rihanna – Swatted April 4:

Law enforcement sources tell us … a call came in to 911 claiming 2 armed men were inside the Pacific Palisades house and someone was shot. (Source: TMZ)

Justin Timberlake – Swatted April 5:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the caller claimed 4 black males entered the house and 2 shots were fired and they left a box with red blinking lights. (Source: TMZ)

Selena Gomez – Swatted – April 5:

Law enforcement sources tell us … the swatter called 911 and told the dispatcher … her dad killed her mom with a gun that was among a cache of 20 weapons. The swatter then said the dad was going to burn the house down. (Source: TMZ)

So, who’s next & who’s behind this?
It’s anybody’s guess who’s next, but I’m sure the LAPD’s personal shortlist includes Victoria’s Secret supermodels (watch out, Ale & Miranda!), as well as sexy actresses like Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence & Kate Beckinsale.

LAPD & FBI are linking these pranks to the same group of anonymous hackers who recently obtained financial information of a long list of celebrities—a list that also includes the OBAMAS!! Even though it’ll be interesting to see who’s ultimately behind these pranks, this story is writing itself into a great upcoming film!

Regardless of who’s behind the pranks, I have a feeling the people running the show have a decent understanding of law enforcement & not to mention, a deep-seeded grudge against the LAPD. Then again, is there anybody out there who doesn’t hate the LAPD?

I wonder what would happen if the same type of shit started going down in Manhattan? NYPD already has itchy trigger fingers, but I have a feeling if they’re called to Jay-Z & Beyonce’s place, they aren’t exactly going to shoot first & think second like they do when calls are made in other (less ritzy) boroughs. Sad, but true.
