Here’s What Some Celebs Are Donating To Help With Recent Flood Victims

Celebrities won’t exactly make a dent with their larger-than-average donations, but they will attract attention to the desperate cry for help and get all of us regular people to start chipping in to help the thousands of flood victims in Houston and surrounding areas. After seeing what some of the big A-listers earned in the past year and then seeing their donations, I have to admit, I was left scratching my head with a few of the donations.

Here’s are 2017’s top 10 celebrity earners (for the complete list, check here):
1. Mark Wahlberg, $68 million
2. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, $65 million
3. Vin Diesel, $54.5 million
4. Adam Sandler, $50.5 million
5. Jackie Chan, $49 million
6. Robert Downey, Jr., $48 million
7. Tom Cruise, $43 million
8. Shah Rukh Khan, $38 million
9. Salman Khan, $37 million
10. Akshay Kumar, $35.5 million

As for the famous donors to help the countless victims of Hurricane Harvey, here’s what we could dig up:
Chart-topping Houston native Beyonce and husband Jay-Z, who just closed on a $110 million L.A. mansion, pledged to help as many victims of Hurricane Harvey. They didn’t reveal a number, but Beyonce said she would work with her charity and pastor to come up with a long-term plan to help.

As for the celebs who put themselves out there with a donation amount, Sandra Bullock currently tops the list with $1 million! Kevin Hart started an online pledge challenge with a $50K donation and called on his friends to contribute. Directly below is a list of a few of the donors.

The Kardashians – $500,000
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – $25,000
Chris Brown – $100,000
Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez – $25,000 each
TI – $25,000
Nicki Minaj – $25,000

The list of current donors is here, but we’re pretty sure this will grow substantially as the days go on. Let’s also hope some of those numbers increase by a few extra zeros. If you want to make a donation to the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

The Clooneys & Sandra Bullock at the ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ in L.A.

The upcoming film ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ is produced by George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures, so that’s why he & his wife Amal are in attendance. Judging by the photos, it appears George & Amal are still floating around in Planet Honeymoon Phase, so let’s see how long that continues. Who knows, maybe Amal has to pop out a couple kids first?

Aside from Sandra Bullock, the film, which hits theaters this weekend, also stars Scoot McNairy, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie and Ann Dowd. Here’s more about the plot:

In 2002, Bolivian politician Pedro Gallo (a fictionalized version of Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada) hires American James Carville’s political consulting firm, Greenberg Carville Shrum, to help him win the 2002 Bolivian presidential election. GCS brings in Jane Bodine (Sandra Bullock) to manage the campaign in Bolivia. Battling her arch nemesis, the opposition’s political consultant Pat Candy (Billy Bob Thornton), Bodine successfully uses American political campaign strategies to lead Gallo to victory against Victor Rivera (a fictionalized version of socialist candidate Evo Morales). Maria Menounos & Sandra Bullock At “Minions” Premiere in London

Maria Menounos and Sandra BullockPhoto Credit: Pacific Coast News; Pictured: Maria Menounos and Sandra Bullock

First of all, it sucks that we don’t get to see Maria Menounos working these pages as often as she used to when she was still on ‘Extra.’ We can all thank Mario Lopez and his dimples for getting Maria booted from the show (probably because she refused to bang him on the side). If only more dudes watched the show, the producers wouldn’t have given into Mario so easily.

Getting back to the film at hand, we should mention that aside from the cute minions, Sandra Bullock is the main star of the latest film in the ‘Despicable Me’ series. This film is supposed to be a prequel/spin-off. Sandra portrays Scarlet Overkill, who is apparently “a stylish and ambitious villain determined– to dominate the world and become the first female super-villain.” (Wiki)

The big premiere event was held earlier today at the Odeon Leicester Square in London.

Sandra Bullock Is Today’s Parking Lot Catwalker

Normally Sandra Bullock is wearing a pair of Nikes and workout bottoms when she’s cruising around L.A., but it appears she was feeling good yesterday—or who knows, maybe she had an important meeting?

The 50-year-old actress worked her fashionable mojo as she headed to the Kohn Gallery in Hollywood. Here’s Sandra talking about her new animated film “Minions” and also her take on “Magic Mike XXL”:

Sandra Bullock Is Today's Other Parking Lot Catwalker!

Sandra Bullock Runs Errands

We don’t normally do multiple Parking Lot Catwalkers, but hey, we’ll make an exception for the always kind & generous Sandra Bullock.

Now, there’s this crazy story about Sandra having to call the cops on an unexpected guest at her home earlier this month. Apparently, her “alleged” stalker, 39-year-old Joshua James Corbett snaked his way into Sandra’s home and greeted the Oscar-winning star at her bedroom door—at 6:30AM! Sandra, being the overly kind & respectful host that you’d expected her to, didn’t bust out her military-grade rocket launcher to blow the guy away, but rather locked the door & called 911. The cops rolled up within minutes with guns drawn and arrested the guy.

I know this goes without saying, but…WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!

And poor Sandra is once again traumatized by another dude with “James” in his name. Even with all her successes Sandra has to go through a lot of crazy bullshit. Why can’t this type of stuff happen to somebody like Katherine Heigl?!

Golden Globes Red Carpet: Sandra Bullock Forgot To Iron Her Dress

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Normally Sandra Bullock hits it out of the park regardless of whether she’s attending a movie premiere or a random award show, so it was odd to see her rocking what looks more like a wrinkled prom dress that she decided to put on at the last minute than something you’d wear on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. Again, this is just the beginning of the award season & Sandra will ride the wave all the way to the end considering she scored countless best actress nominations for her work in ‘Gravity’.

With respect to her nomination, Sandra unfortunately lost out to Cate Blanchett (‘Blue Jasmine’), although ‘Gravity’ director Alfonso Cuarón did win in the Best Director category. The film had a total of four nominations coming in, but could only escape with one Golden Globe. I have a feeling Sandra & crew will have better luck at the Academy Awards next month.

Sandra Bullock Gets Playful At ‘Gravity’ Premiere in Tokyo

'Gravity' premiere in Tokyo - Arrivals

As we mentioned in an earlier post, Sandra Bullock is doing some ‘Gravity‘ promotional work in Japan for her runaway box-office hit that’s directed by Alfonso Cuarón and also stars George Clooney. Her promotional efforts come just a month before award season kicks off, so I have a feeling the film’s producers are set on scoring a few Oscars come February!

Aside from ‘The Butler’ or ‘Fruitvale’, we don’t see any other films that are creating a crazy amount of buzz this later into the year. Then again, there’s still some time on the clock, so it’s possible an unreleased film might surprise everyone and hit it out of the park with audiences & critics alike.

Sandra Bullock Promotes ‘Gravity’ In Tokyo; Did Louis Tag Along?

'Gravity' press conference in Japan

‘Gravity’ is already a HUGE success, with more than $600 million in sales at the box-office, it appears George Clooney & her will try to score themselves a winner at the Oscars, especially considering the fact that everyone absolutely adores Sandra Bullock. Even though the film released back in October, critics & audiences both love the film and it has a lot of Oscar buzz behind it as we roll into awards season.

So, what’s your take? Should Sandra Bullock win another Academy Award for Best Actress?

Sandra Bullock Wins Best Actress @ The 17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards

17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards

As widely expected, Sandra Bullock is slowly building up massive amounts of steam as she heads into award season with her highly acclaimed portrayal of Dr. Ryan Stone in ‘Gravity‘, which is directed by Mexican Alfonso Cuarón and also stars George Clooney. I have yet to see many of the other Oscar hopeful films set for release in the coming weeks, but judging by all the work Sandra Bullock put into this role, it won’t surprise me at all if she runs away with her second Oscar (first was the 2009-hit ‘The Blind Side’). I feel like this latest win will be 10x sweeter than the first considering everything that happened w/ her douche bag-manwhore ex-husband Jesse James.

As for Sandra’s look on the red carpet, I’m really digging it! Major props to whoever is behind the hair & makeup because she’s look far-far younger than 49, which is pretty damn shocking in itself, to say the least.

‘Gravity’ trailer:

Dr. Ryan Stone is a Mission Specialist on her first space shuttle mission aboard the Space Shuttle Explorer. She is accompanied by veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski, who is commanding his final expedition. Kowalski, who is wearing a thruster pack, flies around the space shuttle testing its operation. However, during their final spacewalk to service the Hubble Space Telescope, Mission Control in Houston warns the team that debris from a Russian missile strike on a defunct satellite has caused a chain reaction of destruction and that they must abort the mission. Shortly afterward, communications with Mission Control are lost, though Stone and Kowalski continue to transmit in hope that the ground crew can still hear them. Source
