And you thought Seth Rogen actually had a chance to pull off a ‘high’ upset at the box-office this weekend! Turns out, a lot more people were excited to see the reboot of Superman than some had anticipated. You can thank Henry Cavill’s stubble for that – oh, and Christopher Nolan, too.

Man of Steel opened to a Krypton-sized $125.1 million open this weekend, topping not only a strong challenge from the star-studded This Is The End but also claiming the all-time best open for June from Toy Story 3 which set the $110 million record in 2010.

Whether or not the film zooms into The Avengers and The Dark Knight territory remains to be seen. But it did more six times what This Is The End did which garnered just $20.5 million over the weekend. Gasp, does this mean stoners have better things to do than watch Michael Cera wet himself through The Rapture?!

Liam Hemsworth goes from average joe to corporate pawn in the new thriller Paranoia. When the owners of a owerful conglomerate choose to teach him how “the other half lives”, his life goes from rage to riches – though at a much heftier price than he ever dreamed.

Paranoia co-stars Amber Heard, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, and Richard Dreyfuss and releases August 16.

She may have been “The Other Woman” to Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated, but Lake Bell proves she can play sweet and sympathetic in the new feature In A World. She not only stars in, but also wrote and directed the story about the obstacles faced by women in the voice over business. Looks pretty charming and hilarious to us!

From the makers of Saw and Paranormal Activity comes Insidious: Chapter 2 starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne alongside Ty Simpkins. The movie follows the saga of one family’s desire to rid themselves of a deadly link to the spirit world which threatens their existence in this one.

Insidious: Chapter 2 hits the big screen September 13.

Naomi Watts does her method acted best to conjure the face and figure that was the People’s Princess Diana in the new film from director Oliver Hirschbiegel. The movie explores Diana’s relationship with Pakistani doctor Hasnat Khan and chronicles her human rights advocacy and campaign against landmines.

Diana releases this September.
