The Timeless C.G. Jung! & SuckWOMENto
s is some time after. Dinner, running and crap got in the way] I just saw the last 5 mins of the game. Oh shit, I almost thought that SUCKtown would have came back to ultimately lose in OT, but Webber haunted by his days in Michigan missed the 3.]
Now back to the quote above…yes, this post is hard to follow. My apologies. But as you can understand from that quote, it will plays out perfectly in any war. We simply do not learn from our repeated mistakes. I understand that we are fighting to protect our freedom, but can you justify one man killing another man whom he does not even know because the first man’s leader did not like the other man’s leader? (Ok, did that make any sense?) Can’t you see? Both men are fighting for their own freedom in their minds— except one man’s motivation is cloaked w/ a religious agenda & the other man’s motivations are cloaked w/ a national agenda. We are fighting to protect our freedom that they are trying to take from us & they simply want freedom from our way of life. It’s like two kids fighting for 1 toy. We are taught to make compromises all the way from grade school & this compromise is a direct result of negotiation. That’s why in business, politics, and even crime we negotiate. Why can we not negotiate in war? Is it because they are ‘bad people’ & not worthy of negotiation? If we are truly civilized we should use civilized tactics built into our system rather than resorting to brute force and murder. If you think about it, Shock & Awe was no different than 9/11-except in our case, it’s government sponsored terrorism rather than the lunatic acts of 9/11. We cannot allow ourselves to become the same monsters. Negotiation will require, from us, a tremendous amount of patience, but we will be saving countless lives in the process, so the trade-offs are priceless! Through negotiation, we can learn what these people really want & see if we can possibly change some of our Middle East relations to appease their desires & possibly put an end to the politically motivated fear game. The possibilities are endless & I know one thing: any negotiation will be more constructive than locking people up jail or killing them! Now that brings up one more question: With whom do we negotiate. That is another post, another day :).
I’ll end on this simple note:
Mankind has no existence. I exist, you exist. But mankind is only a word. Be what God means you to be; don’t worry about mankind. In worrying about mankind, which doesn’t exist, you are avoiding looking at what does exist—the self, You are like a man who leans over his neighbor’s fence and says to him: "Look, there is a weed. And over there is another one. And why don’t you hoe the rows deeper? and why don’t you tie up your vines?" And all the while, his own garden, behind him, is full of weeds. -1934, C.G.
