Over the years my music interests have wildly changed from rap (The Chronic & Doggystyle were my first CDs) to punk rock (for a year or so, I was a punk groupie) to mellowed out Pink Floyd to even house music (and I don’t even dance, for God’s sake).
As lame as this will ultimately sound, but it’s pretty obvious that, over time, my musical tastes changed as I changed. Regardless of the genre, music, in its most raw form, has always been something I truly enjoyed whether it was listening to a single album on repeat for 6 months straight (done it multiple times) or catching a certain band’s every show (within a 600-mile radius). I am total freak, I tell you! I’m so wildly passionate about my music that I won’t think twice about driving endless hours just to catch a 30 minute set of my favorite band (Mapquest has jacked me many times).
Ok, I think I’ve said too much. Below are a few album covers that have caught my eye over the last couple years of Interneting. Enjoy.

doesn't anyone listen to DKs anymore? I know Biafra went off the deep end and screwed the band but still the message lingers.... is any one listening? X is awsome...I still listen to the original vinyl...Xcene and Bonebreaker had a great influence! I still find myself hummin' Riding with mary ! What about Gun Club..you know Jeffrey Lee Pierce!?
In Response to Tammy:
The album with the bird on the sword is from "The The" album "Mind Bomb".
It's a dove skewered on a rifle bayonette.
Ive never seen that Poison cover before. Kinda cool. The Virgin Killer album is by far the most outrageous. I bet RCA was happy to have it's logo all over that one!
email your fav album covers for the next installment.

What about "The Eagles - Hotel California" album cover? You know the one that opens up and inside, along w/Don Henley and the boys, that guy who strarted the church of Satan is standing on the balcony. Classic great album, they were the best.
Ahh, mosh pits. At the last backyard gutter punk show I went to, I got an elbow to the ribs and nearly got the wind knocked out of me. But it's all in good fun. The band has a big part in setting the mood of the show, but so does the crowd. You go home feeling like you just got laid with the right crowd. fuck yeah!
There was an album that one of my ex-boyfriends always listened to years ago in high school. It had a dove on a sword. Does anyone know what that one was? I liked the music, can't remember the name of the band though.
i used to hit up gilman at least once a month & would normally catch big names in & around the bay area as they cruised by.
Although, I must admit, the music totally depended on the mood...after bombing a final, for example, I'd head to a bar in Sactown & watch some random deathrock band bark their way through an excruciating 30min set. Very therapeutic, I tell you! I would never buy one of their CDs, but it's very interesting to watch them create their own style of "music."
@ other times, I;d be @ slims or the cocodrie (now it's a jazz club, I think) listening to NOFX or no use for a name or whoever lay it down. hey man, when big name bands are charging like 60 bucks for shitty lawn seats, I'd rather be getting my ass kicked inside a moshpit screaming @ the top of my lungs, while having band members play within flick-off range. *Also* very therapeutic, I might add.
Great selection of music, as it helps us in life :-). But man, that Scropion cover is a bit disturbing....10 year old girl? Ahh I suppose..
*thanks* for the info leanna. :)
The CD with the bpdy and red razorblades is by the band The Distillers. The album's called "Coral Fang". That CD actually had 2 diff covers, this one and one with cartoon bunnies and deer. Some record stores didn't aprove of the razorblade one, so the mainstream retailers (best buy) sold the bunny cover.
Pretty good band
And yes that virgin killer album is disturbing.
Yea, an X fan! I knew about Viggo and Exene, they also have a teenage son. To anwser the earlier question yes their first album "Los Angeles" was produced by him. I'm going to go see their spin-off band tonight, The Knitters. X is an awesome live band, by far the best I've seen. I can't understnad why someone wouldn't like their sound.
scorpions album cover is truly disturbing...a little girl?!?
could someone clue me in to which cover/band is that in pic two ???
Lissa, i love X!!! that lead singer is awesome... do you know that Viggo Mortensen was married to her (but then they got divorced and I read in Vogue that they remain good friends to this day)
X is that band produced by that guy Ray M from the Doors right? Never liked them but know who they are!!
Prince has some hot legs!
Crass is a good band. My favorite punk band is X. Does anyone know who they are?
Prince looks hot! I have been collecting LP's since I was a teen. That Poison one was censored when it came out.
You know Dean Terrence (sp?) from Jan and Dean is responsible for alot of cool LP covers and also helped design the Beach Boys and the American Music awards logos.
i like Crass, the Exploited, the Vibrators, the Casaulties.. 77 punk and streetpunk and Oi! the sort.
im not really into house music... ehehe.
by the way is that a little girl on the Scorpions album cover?!?!? o_o
All right Moe! I knew you enjoyed music but I didn't know you were so passionate about it. Music is the window to the soul. So what kind of punk bands are you into?
