    i dont blame katy because everyone was wearing white when they got there, nobody had paint on their clothes yet and i doubt she knows all the people that were at her party personally. there were a lot of people at her party and nobody knows that many people personally.

    As for taylor, idk. she says she was taking pictures with hundreds of people that night and she didnt even realize what was on his shirt when they took the pic. i guess i might believe her, but only because the guy she is supposedly dating is not aryan. so i dont think shes racist.

    as for the guy, he looks like he is jewish, he has obama on his myspace, and he has a swastika on the top of his page. maybe hes just twisted like that.

    or he could be taking it as what it originally meant, which was actually something good.

    It’s hard to figure how or why the Nazi’s hijacked the term. It’s An ancient Sanskrit word and referred to people that entered northern India several thousand years ago. Many came from what is now Iran and the word ‘aryan relates to them specifically. It’s possible the term hinted that the the ‘visitors’ in northern India had a lighter skin but was not meant in a derogatory way. In short, who the fuck knows why racist blockheads use it…you can bet your ass that they don’t.

    i understand that the swastika has been forever besmirched by its representation of the the Third Reich, but it’s also used in hinduism. its significance is second only to the ohm symbol. it literally means “let good prevail” and is a symbol of peace. it’s sad that it has been so grossly distorted and used for iniquitous purposes.

    Hi NTA. I think that point was covered in earlier posts. The trouble is that when a word or symbol is hijacked then sometimes it’s just ‘game over’ for the old meaning. It happened to the word ‘gay’ 20 or 30 years ago….i could try making a stand and using it in the traditional sense but declaring to a bunch of macho Aussie workmates ‘hey I really am feeling quite gay and cheerful this morning’ is bound to end badly 😉
