i loved kevin and belinda's singing on 'isn't anything'.i loved when they sang together or one did back up vocals to the other. i like neithers singing on 'loveless'.

on 'nothing much to lose' is kevein trying to get the girl or whomever. why unlike most male singers similiar sitution they seem to singing from a postion of strength of all they could do for the girl and who things would be better if the girl was with them.

kevin seems way pleading and begging confused and not too proud.he sings bits and (and the usual standards)and it like he can't even hit the notes 'properly'/he's singing parts he can't 'sing' and male singers aren't supposed to sing this way (espcially if their supposed to get the girl)just seems he's willing to totally embarrass myself to get things across/and if that comes across as awkaward or unusal that fine. and belinds 'cooing' in the back ground awesome. :)

nothing vocally on 'loveless' works for me.

the awkwardness/cofusion/funniness on 'isn't anything' always mad my bloody valentine more loveable to me.

their presence both vocally/musically on 'loveless' is one *that* i have hard time associating with humans. (not that this is always a negative. it didn't work for on this cd)

hell i always considered myself a 'pop' music fan.(a cd like 'isn't anything reminds you of when wimpy pop bands out rocked most rock bands.)and yes in comparsion 'isn't anything is more a pop cd and it rocks more too.and it rocks more in way that reminds me of why i got to alternative.to hear noisy guitar stuff working within the pop format stuff that avoid any label of being metal/punk/classic rock/trad rock or or accepted/usual boring(to me) genres at the time/or now....)

i've never had any sort of fondness for anything that remotely fits into what 'loveless' does...

but i guess that's ok since most of the people/ok lots and lots that love 'loveless' don't even have a nosiy shoegaze/dream pop/noise pop cd on their fave list ever. so what chance does 'isn't anything' have ???

not that i'd say 'loveless' is commercial. but i think if you played both to most people. 'loveless' is the one they be abloe to more assciote with being music/something they could respect.

'isn't anything' makes a lot less since to most people.since it not at either extreme.it not fitting with the guys noise stuff like nirvana nor does it provide the other extreme of guitar beauty/ambiance or whatever it is fans of 'loveless' won't shut up about.

this to me makes to me 'isn't anything' a more 'disturbing' cd.or at least one much more unexpected.at least as far as messing with gender expectations/personas/and sonics.

i know most people feel the opposite is true. fair enough...

i will agrre that 'loveless' goes further in escaping form the phallic/penis rock thrust and getting allow from trad song structures more than 'isn't anything'. yeah i'll agrre with that.and it's alot more tradionally beauitful and a lot lamer/tamer.if not in ideas than in sonics. tough to explain but play both records to most people most will choice 'loveless' because it easier or the ears and is more 'beautiful' or whatever it is people won't shut about...
