Theo Walcott hits his hattrick shot as he scored 3 of Arsenal’s 6 against newly-promoted Blackpool!
There was one game less in the EPL this Saturday compared to last, but there were four more goals! 25 in 7 games in total, and if goals were what you’re after, you had to look no further than London’s elite! Arsenal could’ve had double-figures against a Blackpool side who were brought down to earth with a bang. They won only 6-0 in the end, with the much criticised THEO WALCOTT grabbing his first club hattrick in a rout that put the Gunners second in the table.
Champions Chelsea matched that scoreline, and repeated last week’s heroics by thrashing a shambolic Wigan Athletic 6-0, with ANELKA and KALOU amongst the scorers. Poor-old Latics!
Elsewhere, GARETH BALE starred again as Tottenham Hotspurs recorded an impressive 2-1 win at Stoke, and AVRAM GRANT’S start as West Ham boss couldn’t be worse as his side lost 3-1 at home to Bolton, leaving them 19th and pointless!
ARSENAL 6-0 BLACKPOOL
A lot of people described Arsenal’s point at Anfield last week as ‘lucky’ - the same hypocrits who criticise them for not salvaging points in big games when they’ve not been at their best. Luck wasn’t an issue today, as the clinical Gunners could quite easily have scored 15. New-signing Marouane Chamakh missed a hattrick of sitters including an open-goal and a one-on-one, but he’d later go on to redeem himself. One man who did get himself a hattrick today was England-winger THEO WALCOTT, who has surely got to be in Capello’s national squads on this evidence. Fine, it’s ‘only Blackpool’ - the same team who were being prematurely hyped by many this time last week. Theo’s and Arsenal’s first was a thing of beauty, as one touch football involving Rosicky, Chamakh and finally Arshavin left him with a simple finish that was taken in style.
Chamakh missed a couple of good chances before being fouled for a penalty and having Ian Evatt sent off. ANDREY ARSHAVIN did the rest from the spot. Walcott grabbed his second with a striker’s finish before half-time, while the impressive ABOU DIABY tapped in #4 just after half-time after great work by Sagna. Theo grabbed his third with a sumptuous left-footed strike before being subbed, and MAROUANE CHAMAKH headed in at the end to make it 6, after somehow missing an open net moments earlier. With the goalie and defence having nothing to do all game, this was an exhibition in football and an attacking master-class. Arsenal will face much tougher opposition but this game will do no harm to their confidence and goal-difference. Holloway’s Blackpool will be relegated in my opinion, as awesome a character as he is.
“The way they [Arsenal] try and play, pass and move is an education”, he said of his opponents. No doubt. Watch out big boys, Wenger’s army is back!
Expect Arsenal to make a signing or two this week also. A centre-back and a goalie, perhaps.

Another supposed 'big' team came up against the riches of Manchester City today, a side that are not even established in the top 4 and a squad that are yet to gel, and with both their best players on, Liverpool failed.
I think fans should look at their own issues before judging other teams.
Arsenal have got rid of their dead-wood this year, and brought in some top potential snd addressed their issues.
Rdoublecockface is up to his usual tricks again and doesn't realise what 'home advantage' counts for. Sure, last week Arsenal came up against a team with 10 men for a half. A team that sat back and parked a bus infront of the goal due to the fact that they scored in the first minute of the second half. If a team isnt playing an open footie game against you, and you come up against a good goalie in Reina (until the 90th minute! tosser) and a solid defence line helped out by mascherano AND all the strikers, it'll be naturally hard to score.
At home, Arsenal came up against a sub-standard blackpool team and were already leading 2-0 before only 10 men came into effect. There's an obvious difference here that some idiotic 'fanboys' will not realise. Instead of concentrating on the failures of their own team to keep that backline solid over stoppage time, they turn it around to their advantage and blame Arsenal for not being able to penetrate an 8-man defence plus a goalie. If Arsenal HAD won that game, Liverpool would've only lost 'because they were a man down', not becuase they fought back. Fickle, motherfucking cunts, some fans are.
All credit to Blackpool on Saturday. They ere man down after half an hour and already 2-0 down, but they didnt sit back. they stuck to their game plan and used only 4 men plus a keeper as defence, not 8. Had they sat back, Arsenal would NOT have won 6-0, but maybe 3-0.
Fucking retard. Thats how Man City shitted all over you today. Lets hear your excuse for that one then.
"oh there was no Mascherano!"
"oh, Torres nearly scored, but he didn't!"
Outplayed. Simple. The 2 main boys were playing and did jack-SHIT!
Our talisman didn't touch that dirty Anfield turf last week and your batty goalie still managed to let us score.
Small, Small team! Made for bitches on leashes! "we're global, we're global, lets throw a party! screw our current results, our shit squad and our 7th position finish last year, we were good in the 70's!"

That is a brilliant assessment of Arsenal, Mr. Delacroix!! They batter the weaker teams but when they come across better sides, they get found out, and found out badly. Note the way that Chelsea and Man. Utd. took them apart this season, and also this season Liverpool had 10-men for more than half the game, and Arsenal were unable to win......but beat a 10-man Blackpool 6-0. Go figure........
Chamakh (or as I call him, SHAM-akh) missed a hatful of chances on Saturday including an open goal, and if he thinks he will get those amount of chances against better teams, he is in for a shock. When you consider Torres scored 18 goals in 22 EPL games in an injury-ridden 2009-10, he's got a high standard to meet.
....and Wenger HAS said that he has had access to a top transfer budget over the past 3-4 years, just chooses not to use it. Therefore, Wenger is either a liar or a fantasist if it doesn't exist.
Your assessment of the league is that Chamakh is a top striker and Chelsea and Manchester United are shit teams ? Ok, in that case, I'm glad I don't know anything about football.
That was goal of the weekend. I hate Spuds but that was sublime.
You really don't know anything about football or Arsenal. Arsenal have not had a "top transfer budget" for years. They were restricted because of the new stadium but that is no longer an issue. If you know anything about Chamakh you would know he is a quality player and superior in the air. This is something Arsenal have missed for the last few years and since Bendtner is not the answer they had to get someone.
Chelsea have played no one this season so it's no surprise they have gotten 6 two weeks in a row. Wigan may well be worse than Blackpool and West Brom not much better. They haven't added anything worthwhile this summer and Terry is past it. United also look like crap and were well outplayed by Fulham today. With the 25 player rule coming into effect this season Arsenal are in the best position. Your assessment of the league is bullocks.
haha yeh man. basically they were the worst team in the playoff places to have a chance of qualifying, but they pulled it off somehow. Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Cardiff (although they're Welsh and shouldn't technically be playing in an English league bc they're all separatists) would've had a much better chance of survival and would've done much better throughout the season. Their managers are more experienced and squads alot stronger.
to be honest, all new foreign stars take their time to settle in. Chamakh has to fall into that category. I know he managed to miss a hat-trick of easy chances but I think that those will come with time and confidence. And he still never gave up and eventually got his goal. All the greats had that - Bergkamp was being called a waste of money for 2 months straight after he arrived, Thierry Henry didn't score in his first 10 games. Thats a given.
Also, I don't think that Arsenal 'rely' on Chamakh as their leading striker. Robin van Persie takes that role, and he was benched yday because he's getting back to full fitness. Nicklas Bendtner, who scored a good 13 goals last season despite being injured for 4 months, is injured too. You also saw a glimpse of what Vela could do yesterday, and Theo Walcott will hopefully build on performances like these and carry on against stiffer opposition and stay injury-free. Chamakh adds a finishing gloss to all that attacking prowess.
Goals aren't a problem for Arsenal, they get them from all over the pitch with one of the best attacking lines in the league. Fabregas, Arshavin, Rosicky, Nasri, Vermaelen and now even Wilshere could easily get close to or beat 10 goals a season this year. 116 goals in all competitions last year, and having Cesc, RvP, Bendtner and Arshavin out for different periods of the season didn't help, so it was a good return.
Arsenal's problem is inexperience and injuries. Just like this season already, Nasri's out for a month. It's pure bad luck. The experience will obviously come with time. They'll have another centre-back for cover in Sebastien Squillaci coming in soon too, and perhaps Mark Schwarzer in goal...even though I don't see Almunia as having too many major problems. Fabianski is the one that needs to go.
And I'd definitely have a squad built together with passion and understanding each other games, than one of the likes of Manchester City who buy stars for fun. Mark my words, the fact that Mancini is such a poor man-manager and because a lot of those players and just big names with egos, they wont win much this year either.
Chelsea, Man Utd ad Arsenal spent very little this summer. They've used sense and realised that spending isn't the answer. Its team bonding and building and pure understanding that gets you results.
poor Blackpool.
Bales' goal was a peach.
Chelsea for the title, Arsenal will hit a rough patch around December drawing easy games, dropping vital points, leaving them too far behind in the race
Excellent work........Way to go Arsenal
This is what Arsenal does best. They've always been great at destroying inferior teams, but no one can seriously see them winning the league ( any league for that matter ). They actually rely on Chamakh to be their powerful, leading striker. It's sad to see.
There's a reason they haven't won anything for 5 years despite having a top transfer budget. I don't know why Wenger insists on playing with a U21 team.
OH SHIT... SIX EACH?!?!? thats AMAZING!!!
my conclusion is that Blackpool shouldnt have been promoted
