Amy Adams @ 2011 DGA Awards

Amy Adams has received numerous nominations for her work in The Fighter but has yet to snag one of the awards. She’ll have another shot at it later tonight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, but unfortunately for Amy, Natalie Portman is expected to win best actress honors.

As for 2011, she’s working on both On the Road (also starring Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst) and The Muppets with Jason Segel (pics from the set here!).

Jennifer Lawrence @ 2011 DGA Awards

It’s unfortunate that Jennifer’s so damn young b/c she’s getting snubbed at award shows for best actress honors for her work in “Winter’s Bone” simply b/c “it’s Natalie Portman’s time.” Let’s hope Jennifer can land another powerful role later in her career that’ll allow her to bag an Oscar.

Anyway, here’s more juice about “Winter’s Bone“:

17-year-old Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence) is the sole responsible “adult” in her impoverished Ozark family—with a younger brother and sister and an incapacitated mother. She finds herself forced to track her fugitive father, a longtime crystal meth maker, through the most hardcore of the local criminal network after she learns that he has put their home up as his bail bond. She endures a series of harrowing encounters and experiences, but due to her perseverance, her menaced family survives. [Source]

Natalie Portman & Darren Aronofsky @ 2011 DGA Awards

Darren Aronofsky isn’t getting nearly as much love from the Hollywood award circuit as Natalie Portman, but as long as “Black Swan” is raking in top dollar at the box-office, I’m sure he could care less. He lost out to “King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper in the Feature Film category, so judging by history, he’ll go on to bag an Oscar for his work in exactly a month at the Academy Awards.

As for Natalie Portman, she’s pretty much a shoe-in for Best Actress honors later this evening at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She’s up against Annette Bening (“The Kids Are All Right”), Nicole Kidman (“Rabbit Hole”), Jennifer Lawrence (“Winter’s Bone”) & Hilary Swank for her work in “Conviction.”

For those of you who follow the show, you’ll know that Julia guest starred in the fifth season of the Showtime hit series “Dexter,” a role that earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination.

Julia’s latest project is “The Bell Jar,” which is a film based on writer and poet Sylvia Plath’s only novel. She bagged the lead character Esther Greenwood, so props to Julia & her team!

Sofia Vergara @ 2011 DGA Awards

The always-hilarious Sofia Vergara looked beautiful last night in a silver gown that successfully showed off her juiciest assets. She was on hand to cheer her “Modern Family” director Michael Spiller, who won the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Comedy Series as last night’s Directors Guild of America Awards.

She was nominated but lost out to Glee’s Jane Lynch for the Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actress category. She’ll have another shot at winning an award in the same category later this evening at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

And as always, you can catch Sofia rockin’ her hilarious Colombian mojo every Wednesday night at 9/8c on ABC’s Modern Family playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.

Helena Bonham Carter @ 2011 DGA Awards

Helena Bonham Carter always knows how to have fun on the red carpet, so I’m kinda surprised she looked so normal on the red carpet last night. I guess she’s saving the fireworks for the Oscars.

Anyway, as expected, Helena’s up for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Female Actor in a Supporting Role, but she has fairly stiff competition w/ Melissa Leo (“Fighter” already won Golden Globe), Amy Adams (“Fighter”), Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”) & 14-year old Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”). I’m hoping Mila Kunis sneaks away with this one considering she got snubbed by the Oscars in the nomination department.

Jenna Fischer @ 2011 DGA Awards

Jenna Fischer’s latest film “Hall Pass” hits theaters on February 25th! It’s a Farrelly brothers’ comedy starring Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Alyssa Milano and a long list of others.

Here’s more juice:

Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) are best friends who have a lot in common, including the fact that they have each been married for many years. But when the two men begin to show signs of restlessness at home, their wives (Jenna Fischer, Christina Applegate) take a bold approach to revitalizing their individual marriages: granting them a “hall pass,” one week of freedom to do whatever they want…no questions asked. At first, it sounds like a dream come true for Rick and Fred. But it isn’t long before they discover that their expectations of the single life-and themselves-are completely, and hilariously, out of sync with reality. [Source]
