That political screed can be purchased at InfoWars.com, a website owned by the right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. It's amusing how dishonest and misleading this video is. For example, it blames homeowners for causing the economic crisis, when, in actuality, financial institutions are the root cause. Since late 2004, the FBI has warned that 80% of mortgage fraud can be traced back to lenders -- i.e. banks. Anyone wondering why the public can't make informed decisions should watch this YouTube clip.

Sad that one of the obstacles of the Occupy movement is that it cannot be summarized in a soundbite for mainstream media to digest.

I can tell you one major thing they want -- get the money and corporate influence out of politics and restore the government to the people.

Everything else, you might have to -- gasp -- read and educate yourself.

Well there are worse places, and Syria is one of them. I think it's unpatriotic to not want your country to be the best it can be, and right now, the U.S. has a lot of ways to improve.

Ah, the occupy protesters: 'protesting' God knows what (even they can't articulate it clearly) by leaving their tents in Olympic Plaza (Calgary), while they go to work, school, or Starbucks. Our fat slob of a Mayor, Naheed Nenshi, won't do anything--he's too busy shredding the financial documents from the Airport Tunnel deal. Our lardass Bylaw Services head, Bill Bruce (too fat to pass the police PARE physical, so he went into the weed and unlicensed kitty division) won't touch the squatters. Neither will our Police Chief, Rick Hanson, do anything, since he's counting on the Occupy crowd voting for him when he runs for pulic office. Meanwhile, the entire City bureaucracy gangs up on street preachers and people protesting the protesters:

Sigh... you're right. Let's move to Syria.

As part of the 1%...we could care less about them. We're too busy working, bettering ourselves and living our lives.

I support them 100%. The United States is a plutocracy, controlled by the ultra rich and large (multi-national) corporations with no loyalty to country. The Citizens United decision solidified the ability of corporations to buy politicians. Getting the government restored to the people will take a sustained, mass effort. I hope this is just the beginning.

Finally, fuck the police!

I agree... if you take any crowd as a whole it is not the smarter thing in the world, just go to any tea party protestors and ask what they were protesting for. The goals of this movement have yet to be defined but all of this is just the beginning, look at Greece, look at Italy, look at Ireland... it is a lot more than a bunch of hippies smoking weed in a park, we are basically slowly coming back to the middle ages.

Here some ideas:

-Criminal bankers should go to Jail, MF global just stole 800 million from customer accounts, Fennie and Fredie are costing millions and millions while the excutives keep getting the big bonuses, Bank of New York stole another millions on pension funds... I could write a whole book with all the massive fraud over the weeks.

- Fed has to be audited,

- insider trading my congress should be make ilegal,

- derivatives have to be regulated

- naked shorting has to be made illegal

The government's failure to work on the public's behalf is what's leading to all this disorder. Because the system doesn't function, what exactly did you think those protesters would do? Of course, they're going to sit around, make noise, disrupt traffic, camp in parks, etc. -- it's a disorganized movement.

Dude republicans and democrats are the same thing, they are all owned by the banks. Vote for whichever flavor you want you are going to get the same result.

All 3 branches of the US government are owned by the federal reserve banks and will do whatever they are told no matter how many times 'we the people' tell them we don't want it.

Stopping traffic and shitting in the street ain't going to fix this problem, it's going to take a lot more than that.

I'll give the protesters credit for one thing though, at least they realize there is a problem.

It's a start.

These protests wouldn't be happening if the Democrats and Republicans were actually doing a good job governing the country. Just prosecute the Wall Street cocksuckers who started the recession by committing fraud and driving their companies into the ground. Once the assholes responsible for this mess are in jail, there'll be no more protesters on the streets.

it won't be too long before even sympathizers like Moe realize that this "protest" is more about pot-smoking hippies having a right to sleep in the park without being hassled than it is about any injustice in the system. if we're so concerned about the 1%, let's get all these celebs we like to chit-chat about, and have them give back all the cash they make until they are back with the 99%. think the celebs will do it?? nope because ultimately free enterprise works.

i feel like they hit the reset button by kicking them out of the park...

haven't we had enough of them yet?
