Ladies Who Were Photographed Doing Nothing Special in L.A.

Since there’s not much newsworthy things to report on, here’s another installment of “ladies who were photographed doing nothing special”. Yesterday saw these ladies running some errands and the paparazzi tagging along for today’s viewing. Both Ashley Tisdale and Rose McGowan made trips to the salon while January Jones had a doctor’s appointment and Ali Larter took baby Theodore Hayes MacArthur to visit a friend. Yup, breaking news, right? On to the poll…

L.A: “Pretty Little Liars” Star Ashley Benson Hits Togo’s For Lunch!

I’m really diggin’ the way Ashley Benson looks in these pics—styled to perfection, to say the least. You can tell she made sure she was on her A-game before leaving home to grab a sandwich at a local Togo’s sandwich joint in Los Angeles. For those of you guys who don’t know, the “Pretty Little Liars” star was recently named the face of Bongo, along with her co-star Lucy Hale. You can checkout a few of the juicy ads they did on Bongo’s website. Here’s a preview:

The Grey: Film Review

Visit “The Grey” official website.

I’ve been eyeing many a poster for Liam Neeson’s The Grey over the past few months here in Tinsel Town. For some reason, I just assumed it was an action flick about an aged man whose prime is way, way passed. The trailer, by the way, looked simply awful.

But I got invited to a free screening, and, as a film critic, I had to go. Boy, was I wrong: not only is it not an action flick, it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long, long time – this, despite the fact that some natural and environmental liberties have been taken to tell the story of the Big Bad Wolf.

The movie is about a group of oil company workers who toil for their livelihoods far north in the land of arctic tundra, polar bears, giant walruses, and vicious, ravenous wolves. The men we encounter in the story are not the average, run-of-the-mill Joe Blow: these are men who can only live on the fringes of society because they are programmed for extended periods of extreme physical suffering and isolation. And when they’re not on an oil rig crashing into glaciers, they’re drowning their sorrows (or perhaps dreams) in alcohol. The “bar” that they frequent is one where everyone knows not only your name, but the name of your internal devastation. Bottoms up!

A group of workers, including Ottway (Neeson) are on a plane flying out on leave when it crashes in The Middle of Nowhere. Most of the men perish soon thereafter, leaving just a scant seven who must find their way out of the planet’s Frozen Hell.

They hope and pray to be rescued, but the only beings that find them are wolves. Scary, starving wolves that are only too eager to pounce on the wandering men whose only line of defense is fire. Remember the scene in Beauty and the Beast when Belle flees the Beast’s castle in the middle of the night and is attacked by a gang of bloodthirsty wolves? The Grey paints an even harsher picture of nature’s least friendly canine; you know it isn’t a fair portrait (they’re just trying to survive, the same way the men are clinging to their lives) but you buy it for the sake of the movie.

The big story here is that Ottway was on the brink of suicide when the plane crashed – now he realizes for the first time how precious his life is. He has to fight every element – nature, beast, and even himself – to preserve what should have been dearest to him all along.

Will he survive? Will it matter if he does? It all depends on what he does after. He just has to get to the ‘after’ first.

Lunchtime Yet? PETA-Girl Sophie Barrett Wants You To Stop Eating Meat

Wonder who had the pleasure of drawing all over Sophie’s body earlier today? Anyway, these were snapped in London as Sophie Barrett was the latest chick to pose naked in public behind a poster that reads, “All Animals Have The Same Parts: Abolish Meat.” Of course, this was all in an attempt to raise awareness for animal rights group PETA. Don’t know about you guys, but staying away from eating meat is pretty much the last thing that comes to mind when looking at these pics…

NTAs in London: Chloe Sims, Amy Childs & Tulisa Contostavlos

Showing off the rack (in most cases, obscenely huge ones) was definitely a common theme in most of the outfits on last night’s red carpet at the National Television Awards. There’s a long list of Brit D-Listers from the event, so we’ll get a few more up before the day is over. In the meantime, check the earlier post featuring more ladies from the event.

Zahia Dehar Showcases Haute Couture Lingerie @ Paris Fashion Week

This proves once again, the model can seriously make or break the look and in this particular case, the model could be wearing a trash bag for all we care, but it just works. Whatever the case, this is a definitely very questionable lingerie at best, but I guess that’s the whole point of haute couture . More designs from Zahia Dehar directly below.

Berlin: Kate Beckinsale @ “Underworld: Awakening” Promo Event

Another day so therefore another country for Kate Beckinsale as she continues her whirlwind tour to promote Underworld: Awakening. The studio must really be banking on the film to be a blockbuster having sent Kate to make the rounds as they work to recoup the $70 million estimated budget to make the film. After its first weekend, Underworld: Awakening was over halfway there raking in $40 million but our guess is that if the film doesn’t get to the $200 million level worldwide, they’ll probably consider it a failure by their standards. As always we gotta do our part to plug the film so here goes:

Six months after the events of Underworld: Evolution, vampire Selene is captured by humans during “The Purge”, a mass crusade of extermination for vampires and lycans after mankind learned of their existence. Twelve years later, Selene is freed from cryogenic suspension and escapes the medical corporation Antigen. The corporation is trying to make an antidote for the virus that creates vampires and lycans. Selene starts to have weird visions after her escape which she follows. She believes the visions are linked to her lover, the vampire-lycan hybrid Michael Corvin. The visions lead her into a building where she meets David, a fellow vampire. While talking to David Selene has another vision, this time the person is cornered by lycans. Following the vision she discovers a young girl named Eve, later revealed to be a hybrid and Selene’s daughter. David, takes them to his coven. [Wiki]
