As Moe has informed all of us, the site is going through a bit of a remodeling session. That isn’t going to stop me from ranting about sports! I agreed to keep posting about sports and Moe assured me that I’d be back to my six-figure salary in no time.
Speaking of problems, it looks like there’s been some turmoil as of late involving the Boston Celtics and their young PG Rajon Rondo. I’m actually a fan of Rondo and I’d be more than happy to have him in a Mavs uniform. Or Deron Williams. One can keep dreaming right? Do I think the Celtics should trade Rondo? I don’t think so but if it’s ruining the locker room atmosphere then go forward with it. I’m not too involved with the team but I know that sitting at .500 isn’t where their goals are. They better do something quick because their Big 3 are running out of time and the Bulls along with the Heat aren’t letting go of the eastern conference anytime soon.
Let’s talk about that Miami Heat basketball team. Has anyone been watching them as of late? They are absolutely tearing through teams right now. They have won nine straight games and I believe their average winning margin is around 15 points. Most people don’t think any team is close to the Heat’s level right now and I’m inclined to agree BUT this team will be judged by its performance in the postseason. In the mean time let’s all enjoy the ride and watch this team go to work every night. As long as they’re landing thunderous dunks and not breaking any noses, right Bryan?
During the All-Star game this past Sunday Heat player Dwyane Wade struck Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and it resulted in a broken nose. As you can see from the picture above Kobe new nickname has been temporarily dubbed as “Masked Mamba.” It’s has a nice ring to it, no? Kobe didn’t seem to be too affected by it because his first game wearing the mask resulted in dropping 31 points during a convincing win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Everyone wants to know if Kobe took anything personal by Wade’s foul. My opinion? Not really. Kobe is a grown man who won’t let a random foul affect his season but that doesn’t mean he’s going to forget it. Look for him to have a monster game this Sunday when they square off against the Heat in a premiere match-up.
