Matthew Fox “Beats Women” Tweets Dominic Monaghan

He beats women. No thanks.[E! Online]

Life was so innocent on Middle Earth, wasn’t it, Dominic? For those of you Lost fans still reeling from the fact that the show has long since folded shop, here’s a new twist in the series’ afterlife: Dominic Monaghan tweeted that star Matthew Fox “beats women” and that he would like to have nothing to do with his former co-star. Sam and Frodo were much better company, he laments.

Why would Monaghan say such a thing? Fox is scratching his head wondering the same thing since all accounts point to a friendly camaraderie between the two (at least while they were filming, see smooch pic above), but Fox is not without his own troubled history. Last year, Fox was sued by a Cleveland bus driver who accused Fox of beating her in the groin while drunk. She refused to drive him to his hotel which prompted the attack, she alleged. Fox countersued for defamation and the case is still being fought in Ohio courts.

Monaghan apparently didn’t know that he was setting off a firestorm, and is quite happily revealing all kinds of details about Fox’s alleged history of hitting women. He responded to one skeptic via Twitter: “An accusation is when you’claim’ someone did something wrong.i know.but hey little fan girl maybe want to get slapped around by him? Daddy issues? Blinded by the nice haircut? It’s never okay. Maybe you have lower standards.”

Who do you think is in the right here? Should Fox be presumed innocent until proven otherwise? Or does Monaghan have a point?
