While his company shaves off billions in its market capital (shares currently down 9%), newly minted billionaire CEO Mark Zuckerberg seems to be completely relaxed as he spends his romantic honeymoon with wife Priscilla Chan. The couple tied the knot last week following Facebook’s controversial IPO on May 18. The couple were spotted walking around the beautiful town of Capri and then later boarded a speedboat to cruise around the island. Photo Credit: Splash News Online

Held at Paris’ Hotel George V, Eva Longoria attended the Global Gift Gala hosted by jewel designer Sheeva. Eva serves as an Honorary Chair of the fundraising initiative (in collaboration with The Eva Longoria Foundation), which aims to support children and empower women. Eva isn’t stopping since Desperate Housewives is done having made her round at the Cannes Film Festival and is gearing up for the release of her new film The Baytown Disco, which Eva says is completely different from Desperate Housewives and also commented about her interest in producing.
“This isn’t really one for the girls. This is real boys’ stuff. It’s very violent. There’s a lot of blood and guts and shooting and guns.”
“The reason I love to produce is I have a very strong business mind so I like putting the pieces together. I like the creative process.
“As an actor, you don’t control anything but the performance. You don’t edit, you don’t direct, you don’t build sets, you don’t write it and you really have no control over the outcome.
“As a producer you have a lot of control so I’m kind of a control freak. I’m really bossy and I really enjoy being behind the camera and I definitely will be doing more of it.” [Source]

Well, I suppose we all knew it had to happen eventually: after lambasting Lady GaGa in years past as having been “obviously” influenced by her special brand of ’80s pop and even going so far as to refer to her music as “reductive”, Madonna has done a complete 180 and started to cover Lady GaGa! Yup, Madge fans and Monsters alike, you read right: Madonna covered a Lady GaGa song, specifically “Born This Way”. She was recorded in rehearsal in Tel Aviv for an upcoming concert when she suddenly burst into GaGa’s hit song from last year.
What say you? Whose version do you prefer? Is Madge being a hypocrite? Or is she submitting to the Awesomeness that is GaGa?

As she has done in at least the past three years, Kelly Brook returned to London’s Regents Park earlier this morning wearing her usual short dress to promote Mayor of London’s Sky Ride, a major cycling event in the city that’s aimed at cyclists of all ages.
HBO should get credit for doing what it usually does: trying to create entertainment that doesn’t adhere to norms but still manages to tell its audience something they didn’t already know. Sometimes, however, they get stuck between two modes, and this is glaringly apparent in the new HBO film, Hemingway & Gellhorn.
Starring Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen as Martha Gellhorn and Ernest Hemingway, the movie is basically about their much fabled love story. And while it’s all lovely to look at and ponder over in the way that epic love stories between famous 20th century figures usually are, there just isn’t as much there as the makers might want us to believe. It’s the same problem that ultimately brought down Baz Luhrmann’s Australia which also starred Kidman: it looks epic and sounds epic. It just doesn’t feel all that epic in the end. In fact, very few moments in the film stand out as being innovative or novel, which is ironic considering it’s about two writers. It all feels very ‘by-the-book’. That’s so not HBO!
The triumph of the movie are its performances. Kidman gives the best performance she’s given since her Oscar winning turn as Virginia Woolf in The Hours (where she also played a famous 20th century writer). She gives Gellhorn a multitude of dimensions and makes her much more interesting than women of that era are generally thought to have been. If this were a cinematic release, she’d be getting tons of Oscar buzz.
There isn’t much in the way of chemistry between Kidman and her co-star, but Owen clearly relishes his part as the man who could certainly be named the most fascinatingly tragic writer of the last 100 years. Hemingway was a difficult and often times abrasive character, concerned not only with his own emotional burden, but with the nature of writing and creating. To Owen’s credit, he does not spend much time at all trying to get the audience to like Hemingway. He is presented as he was: complex, difficult, and entirely unaesthetic.
The film deserves to be looked at by all who appreciate a good effort; effort, unfortunately, does not always pan out with intended results.
