When legendary writer-director Nora Ephron passed away yesterday from complications from leukemia, she left a void in Hollywood that will be difficult to fill. With no other female writer-director (or even male writer-director) with a comparable track record and writing ability readily available, Ephron has been inspiring movie lovers and actors alike for decades.
Some of her famous writing credits include When Harry Met Sally and Silkwood and she also directed movies like Sleepless In Seattle, Julie & Julia, and You’ve Got Mail.
Some of the most popular tweets that went out yesterday upon news of her demise included the following:
Zooey Deschanel: I’m very sad about Nora Ephron, a hero for all funny ladies.
