The ones hiring in the sequel were the poor, tortured employees of the first outing (Jason Bateman, Jason Sudekis and Charlie Day) who start their own business only to be swindled by an investor. They then decide (smartly) to kidnap the investor’s son and hold him as ransom. Whoops.
