I’ll be honest, I really thought George Clooney was using Venice as a decoy for a real wedding he was going to have elsewhere while the press cruised around the Grand Canal, but obviously that wasn’t the case. It appears as if George, even though he’s somewhat of a private guy who manages to keep the press at a distance, wanted the Venetian wedding experience to the point where he was willing to suffer through the logistical nightmare that comes coupled with the world-famous floating city.
Earlier today, George & Amal were all smiles following their civil ceremony, which also took place in Venice. So, did George surprise Amal with a prenup or was this true love after all? He doesn’t seem like the guy who would wait all this time to get married and then go the prenup route, but considering she’s a lawyer, I hope George didn’t think let his emotions muddle with the reality of his situation.
At the end of they, this is a man who has spent the better part of his life living as a Hollywood A-list bachelor (he’s 53), so his sudden decision to take an exit for pothole-ridden marriageville will undoubtedly come with a list of challenges once he & amal resurface from a seemingly bottomless pool of rose pedals, more commonly referred to as the honeymoon period. Then again, when you consider how much George works, he’ll probably spend a lot of time away from Amal, so this marriage has a chance, assuming he can limit continue working 320 days of the year.
And finally, George & Amal aren’t probably that superstitious, but we should note that a lucky (or unlucky?) member of the papz photographed a black cat that apparently made repeat appearances during the past 48 hours as the wedding extravaganza went down. Hmm…
