If you want to read a random plot summary, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s more about the new drama “The Book of Love,” which was originally titled “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea,” but I guess someone shot that down.
Henry (Jason Sudeikis) is an introverted architect. After his wife Penny (Jessica Biel) is killed in a car accident, he sets out to help Millie (Maisie Williams), a homeless teen, build a raft to sail across the Atlantic. Source
The film actually premiered at Tribeca back in Spring, 2016, but producers are choosing to release it right now. You know what means. Typically January & February are one long & painful month in Hollywood that feature a disproportionate number of B-list action flicks & dumpy dramas. It’s ironic since these are the two months Hollywood spends praising it’s A-list stars & films.
On paper, the film appears to be promising—and who knows, maybe it’s worth spending $13—but judging by the fact that it premiered at The Grove shopping center, we’re going to assuming the suits aren’t expecting a box-office home run with this one. The cast features Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Jason Sudeikis, Mary Steenburgen, Orlando Jones, and Paul Reiser. And, oh yeah, we should mention that Justin Timberlake did the film’s music.
