Maria Sharapova Doing A Promotional Victory Lap After Getting Her Doping Suspension Reduced

As some of you guys may have heard, it was recently revealed that Maria Sharapova’s 24-month doping suspension was reduced to 15 months earlier this week. Maria is doing her best to throw everyone under the bus for not doing a better job in informing athletes—especially eastern European athletes who commonly used meldonium in their secret repertoire of performance enhancing drugs.
The 29-year-old visited various media outlets to discuss the latest news about her doping scandal, as well as plug an upcoming charity tennis event in Vegas. The World Team Tennis Smash Hits event will be held on Monday at Caesars Palace and co-hosted by Billie Jean King and Elton John. To be honest, I’m kind of shocked that they allowed Maria to participate in the event because let’s face it, she isn’t exactly a positive face for tennis right now. The event, which will air live on ESPN2, will also feature tennis A-listers like John McEnroe, Andy Roddick and Martina Navratilova.
