Contagion is a thriller/horror movie that stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jude Law.     It’s very trendy for parisian yuppies to give their kids old fashioned, post WWI names like Marcel, Fernand, Lucien or Germain because it’s so cool and “vieille France”. That’s not really a surprise given the fact that she had the kid with Guillaume Canet, the king of french douchebags. The equivalent for an american couple would be to name their kid Walt or Maynard.

    Anyway, the love for Marion Cotillard is beyond me. I can think of a dozen french actresses who are prettier and more talented than she is. She is just on an unbelievable lucky streak.

    I don’t hate her. She’s being very smart with her career and she would be stupid not to capitalize on her sudden international fame. I just can’t believe people love her so much, it makes no sense. But I don’t hate her, I hate her husband. Just think of an super pretentious american hipster that you despise and you’ll get what I mean about him.

    By the way, if there are any french canadians reading this, please don’t mind what I said about french names, it doesn’t apply to you.

    Juliette Binoche and Julie Delpy are fine. I like the fact that they can speak english properly whenever they have to. Sophie Marceau was the social icone of her generation so I can’t judge her. And then Emmanuelle Béart paved the way for the generation of sluts we have today like Mélanie Laurent.
